"I Will Remember",
A poem read by Ann Selby Rickards at the dedication.

Here, on this day, I view with pride
this ancient English village at side
of running brook, where trout uncaring play,
that chuckles clear and sweet upon its way
by village green, where flowers brightly hem
a weathered stone, placed there for such as them
who laughed with me and flew with me so well
through darkened skies until a blazing hell.
I would it be that they could find me here
and know that, what they gave in cold and fear
will live forever and forever dwell
about this blessed land I love so well.
And all of my tomorrows they were denied
to keep the spring of freedom in my stride.
I will remember, and at times like these
catch the sigh of engines on the breeze
