Primitive Methodist Church - Portland


Primitive Methodist Church (Portland Circuit), Fortuneswell, Portland:
this church now belongs to the local amateur dramatic society and is used as a theatre.
Note the sea and Chesil Beach (Bank) beyond.

1850. Primitive Methodist Church established.*

1858. Small chapel erected by Primitive Methodists in Chesil.*

1860. Primitive Methodist Chapel built at Weston.*

1867. Portland made a Primitive Methodist circuit.*

1869. Primitive Methodist Chapel, Fortune's Well, erected.*
