Working the 6 inch gun on the Forecastle
As several viewers have pointed out, it is interesting to note that several of the gun�s crew are barefoot. This was common practise in the mid-1890s when this photo was taken.
[One wonders how many serious foot injuries there were due to this practice? PB]
