The message on the reverse reads "Dear Mable, Just a line to let you know I got back quite safe. Buses were not running at the Horse Shoe till 7.15 so I walked it, got there at 7.5. Harry, 99 Mess." Harry was presumably hurrying back on board before the expiry of overnight leave at 0730, so as not be adrift?
