Annie L. (Peavey) Gould,
90, of Beech St., Greenville Jct., died Feb. 7, 2002, at the C.A. Dean Nursing Home in Greenville. Born July 18, 1911 in Patten, ME she was the daughter of John and Edith (Hutchins) Peavey. She was a graduate of Patten Academy. She and her family lived in Patten until 1962, when they relocated to Derry NH. She and her husband returned to Maine in 1967, living in Brewer for a short time before moving to Greenville Jct., where she resided for the past 30 years. Her husband, Leonard Gould died in 1985.

She is survived by a son, Allison Gould and daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Newhall) Gould of Antrim N.H., a granddaughter, Bonnie Gould; a great-grandson, Douglas Hilton, both of South Berwick; two brothers, John H. Peavey of Leominster, Mass, and George F Peavey of Patten; a brother-in-law Stephen Naas; and a sister-in-law, Rebecca (Gould) Naas of Presque Isle; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Patten Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the CA Dean Nursing Home, PO Box 1129, Greenville, ME 04441-1129 or a charity of choice.

YORK, ME

Ann Peavey Rennie, 66, of York, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

Ann was born in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Harry and Rebecca Peavey.

Ann was a graduate of Ana Maria College in Worcester, Mass., and worked as a social worker at the Masonic Home in Charlton, Mass. She also worked at Elders Mental Health Care in Worcester.

Ann is survived by her husband, David Rennie, and five children.

SERVICES: Memorial service arrangements are pending at Union Cove Church in York. For specific details of the service, call (207) 363-4821. Arrangements are under the guidance of Independent Death Care, 471 Deering Ave., in Portland.

PEAVEY, ARTHUR W.

PATTEN, ME

Arthur W. Peavey, 85 of Patten Maine died on April 23, 2007 after a battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Charles and Marion (Kennedy) Peavey. He is survived by his beloved companion, Mary Cox of Patten; three sons, Paul R. Peavey of Pepperell, Mass., Charles (Tad) D. Peavey of Harwich, and Clarke W. Peavey of Marshfield; and two daughters, Sandra J. McGibbon of East Dennis, and Andrea M. Peavey of Pepperell. He was the loving grandfather of Ashley and Wyatt Peavey of Harwich, Haleigh and Emilie Peavey of Marshfield, and Daniel McGibbon of East Dennis. He was predeceased by a son, Gordon A. Peavey and his former wife, Elaine M. Peavey.

Mr. Peavey was born and raised in Patten. After graduating from Patten Academy, he joined the Army and served in the South Pacific on the Island of Saipan during World War II, where he won a Gold Glove boxing championship. After the war, he moved to Cape Cod where he married and established a home in West Harwich.

He was a devoted member of the Pilgrim Lodge, A. F. & A. M. of Harwich for over 50 years, and served as Worshipful Master in 1964. After spending many years in the masonry trade, he taught masonry for over 10 years at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. Upon retiring from teaching, Mr. Peavey re-established his home in Patten.

Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m., on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at the Bowers Funeral Home, 18 Sherman St., Island Falls, Maine, where Masonic services will be conducted by Katahdin Lodge # 98 A.F & A.M. at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Patten Cemetery at a later date.

PEAVEY, BETTY E.

SHAPLEIGH , ME

Betty E. Peavey, 63, of Shapleigh, and formerly of Columbia, Conn., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born in Paradise, Calif., on March 21, 1949, the daughter of the late Terrell Sr. and Helen Estes. In 1993 she retired from Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Conn., after 21 years of service with the company. After retirement she became a sewing instructor, a hobby she had taken up as a young girl. In 2005 she moved to Maine and was an active member of the Acton Congregational Church.

She was predeceased by her parents; and two sisters, Jeanette and Caroline. She is survived by her husband, Michael D. Peavey of Shapleigh; children, Robert C. Keenan of Burlington, Conn., Heather M. Pisapia of Everett, Mass., Kathleen P. Nye of North Windham, Conn.; grandchildren, Bryant Goss, Alyssa Bull, Hailey Cerasoli, Ava Pisapia, Jordan Nye, Jared Nye, Jacob Kandolin, brothers, Terrell Estes Jr., Jimmy Estes; and sister, Susan Estes.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb 2nd at 5 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Visiting hours for family and friends will begin at 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Condolences may be expressed at wwwdotblackfuneralhomesdotcom.

SOUTH PARIS, ME

Blanche Delia Peavey Nelson, 89, of Wilton, died early Friday morning, Dec. 19, 2003 at the Market Square Health Care Center where she has been a resident for the past two years.

She was born in Palermo on Nov. 1, 1914, a daughter of Chester and Jessie (Dyar) Peavey. She graduated from Liberty High School.

On Feb. 16, 1935, she married, Manley E. Nelson in Wilton where they made their home on Highland Ave. Mrs. Nelson worked at G.H. Bass in Wilton starting in 1953 until her retirement in 1980.

She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Wilton as well as the Wilton Senior Citizens. She also served as the Wilton Girl Scout Leader.She very much enjoyed her involvement in the community as well as bowling in the Senior Citizen League and working in her flower garden.

She is survived by a son, Richard Nelson and his wife Sandra of Wilton; a daughter, Joyce Palmer and her husband Kurt of Norway; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Palmer of Norway, Jim Palmer and his wife Norma of Norway, Richard Nelson and his wife JoEllen of Wilton, and Rebecca Jean Nelson of Farmington; a great-grandson, Jonathan Palmer of Norway.

She was predeceased by her husband; and a sister, Beatrice Wood.

PEAVEY, CECELIA P. (Wardwell)

ORLAND, ME

Mrs. CECELIA P. PEAVEY, daughter of Stephen and Mercy H. Wardwell was born at North Penobscot, Maine, March 18, 1839 and died at Orland, Maine, March 7, 1888.

When a mere child, she became identified with the followers of Jesus, and at the age of 13 joined the M.E. Church.

On Dec. 1, 1887 she married Mr. Asa C. Peavey of Orland, and less than 4 months from the time we were invited to participate in the marriage ceremony, we were called to attend the last sad rites at her burial. Her last hours were peaceful and happy, with her husband, one sister and friends standing near her bedside, she passed without a struggle.


PEAVEY, CHARLES FRANKLIN

BANGOR, ME

Charles Franklin Peavey better known as 'Ted' Peavey, 79 died Wednesday 09-19-1945 at Bangor Maine hospital, where he had been but a brief time. He had been in poor health for a few weeks.

His parents were Hiram and Mahitable (Watson) Peavey. He was born in Exeter Maine in 1866 and lived there until 23 years ago, when the family moved to Corinna and purchased the farm locally known as the 'A R Blaisdell place'.

He married Miss Hattie Eastman of Corinna, who died in 1983. He was road commissioner in Exeter.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters; John Peavey of Corinna and Mo. M.M. 1/c, Lester Peavey, Mrs. Luene Cote of Newport , NH and Mrs. Marie Pipes of Corinna; wo granddaughters, Sally Jane Cote of Newport NH and Carla Pipes of Corinna; and an older sister, Mrs Eliza Parkman of Dexter, who was present at the funeral.

The funeral services were held Friday at 2 P.M. at Buxton Funeral Parlors, Corinna, with Rev. J. W. Reynolds Pastor emeritus of the High St. Union Church, Newport speaking, has been the pastor in the family in the past.

There were many beautiful pieces of flowers. R J had charge of the funeral arrangements. The bearers were: JC Brown, Alton Bird, Jerry Roberts and Lester Jones. The burial was in East Exeter Cemetery in family lot.

MONTVILLE, ME

Earl D. Peavey, 78 of Montville, passed away February 28, 2010 in Waterville. He was born in Montville December 1, 1931, son of Forrest and Minnie (Sanford) Peavey. He loved working. He worked for the State of Maine, Lee Brothers and Dick Edgecomb. His last job he loved the best, working at Hidden Valley Camp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his dog.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers Henry and Junior. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Shirley Peavey of Montville; his children Donna Stanley of Searsport, Diane Benner of Waldoboro, Donald Peavey of Searsport, Forrest Peavey of Montville; step-children Frederick Soule of Waterville, Bonnie Parsons and husband Dan of Unity, Lisa Soule of Waterville; a brother John Peavey of Vermont, sister Lois Littlefield of Waldo; 7 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast with Pastor Fred Williams officiating. On-line condolences may be placed at www.ripostafh.com.

(PEAVEY) FORREST, DOROTHY P.

WESTBROOK, ME

Dorothy P. Forrest, 85, resident of the Maine Veterans Home, Scarborough, formerly of Riverview Terrace, Westbrook, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003 in a Portland hospital.

She was born in Brooks, a daughter of Harry and Lila Stoddard Peavey. She was raised and educated in the Hollis-Gorham area and received her teaching degree at the Gorham Normal School.

Mrs. Forrest was a substitute teacher at many area schools and later worked in the retail industry in greater Portland. Her life was centered around her grandchildren, Shelley and Craig. She had served on the Council at Riverview Terrace; she volunteered at polling places in Westbrook and Portland and at TOPPS, she was an avid beano and card player; enjoyed painting and giving her paintings to people; and enjoyed trips with the Senior Citizens.

Her husband, Ralph W. Forrest, died in 1979. She was also predeceased by, brother H. William Peavey.

She is survived by a son, Michael and wife Terry Forrest of Westbrook; two grandchildren, Craig and wife Jessie Forrest of Westbrook and Shelley and husband Alan Walsh of Waltham, Mass.; and great-granddaughter, Riley.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., at the South Buxton Cemetery, Torrey Hill. Rev. Gordon Pierce will officiate. Following the service, there will a gathering at the home of Michael and Terry, in Westbrook.

PEAVEY, EDWIN J.

GARLAND, ME

Funeral services were held at the Garland Church Tuesday afternoon, for Edwin J. Peavey, 76, who died Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Adams, where he had made his home for many years. Frederick Marsh of Corinna, lay preacher, officiated. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.

He was born at Exeter, Oct. 9, 1884, the son of George and Mary (Murray) Peavey. He was the owner of Peavey's Express, which he sold in 1940 to Fox and Ginn. He was a member of Galand Grange, Penobscot Pomona, State and National Grange For many years, he served on the Garland superintending school committee.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Smith of Orrington; a sister, Mrs Grace Dewhurst of Hialeah, Fla; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

BANGOR, ME & ST PETERSBURG, FL

Elaine (Stanley) Peavey, 90, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008. She was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Gouldsboro, the daughter of George and Marguerite (Smith) Stanley. Elaine graduated from Steuben High School in 1935 and attended Maine School of Commerce for 3 1/2 years.

She was married to Henry Peavey for 28 years and had a great love for family and enjoyed her 25 winters in St. Petersburg, Fla.

She is survived by her children, Diane Skinner and her husband, Allen, of Summerfield, Fla., David Peavey of Rockport, Texas, George Peavey and his wife, Jo Ann, of Brookville, Fla., Joseph Peavey and his wife, Janice, of Bangor, Victor Peavey and his wife, Crystal, of Glenburn and James Peavey of Bangor, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grand-children; and her special friend, Mandee. She was predeceased by her husband and parents.

Elaine's family would like to thank the staff at Emilio Estates, Corinth, for their six years of love and care given to Elaine.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor ME where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett, pastor of First Congregational Church of Brewer, officiating.

Elsie I. Hand passed away July 25, 2004, in Bangor. She was born May 18, 1926, in Carmel, the daughter of J. Boyd Hand and Mildred Emery Hand.

Elsie is survived by one daughter, Janet Peavey Brown of Bangor, and her special friend, Ralph Jones; two sons, Gilman Peavey Jr. and his wife, Vicky, of Carmel, and Michael Peavey and his wife, Brenda, of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Craig Peavey of Hickory, Ky., Lisa Peavey of Kenduskeag, and Scott Peavey of Carmel; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan of Kenduskeag, and Alexis and Casandra of Hickory, Ky.; one brother, Kevan Hand and his wife, Marie, of Carmel; two sisters, Dianne and her husband, Dale, of Newport, and Marilyn St. Louis of Carmel. She will also be remembered by many special friends, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother and father; and a brother, Johnny. At her request there will be no services. Esther L. Rickards Peavey, 67, died May 15, 2004, at Lincoln. She was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Island Falls, the daughter of Cleave and Louise (Sleeper) Dearborn.

She is survived by seven children, David Dearborn of Rolla, Mo., Paula Hartin of Mars Hill, Albert Rickards of Crystal, Lyndon Rickards of Rochester, N.H., Dale Rickards of Gray, Tabby Watt of Cumberland, and Terry Rickards of Boseawen, N.H.; and 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William Albert Rickards; and two sons, Delbert and Jody.

Fredrick Leroy Peavey,
56, went home to be with his mom, dad, and sister February 12, 2005. He was born September 5, 1948, in Portland, the son of Clifford and Ada (Brown) Peavey.

He is survived by his special sister, Virginia Culver and her husband, Ronald; two special nieces: Michelle and her husband, John Carll, Carol and her husband, Paul Haines; a special nephew, Adam Culver and his wife, Maurita; several other nieces and nephews, and many special friends. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who loved him.

George Francis Peavey, 94, died Sept. 6, 2007, in Patten ME. He was born July 3, 1913, in Patten, the son of John and Edith (Hutchinson) Peavey. George was the 1937 Lightweight Golden Glove champion for the state of Maine.

He is survived by one brother, John Halbert Peavey of Leominster, Mass. He was predeceased by siblings, Helen Stimpson, Alice Peavey, Olive Cunningham and Anne Gould.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. with the Rev. Tae Sung Kang officiating.

George Standley Peavey, 67, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, after a short battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 21, 1943, in Bangor, to Henry L. and Elaine S. Peavey. George had a great love for his family, and enjoyed summers in Maine and winters in Florida. He graduated from Bangor High School and was employed by Nissan Baking Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1994. His passion was fishing and he enjoyed his retirement doing what he loved, fishing the lakes of Maine and the Gulf of Mexico. He enjoyed life to the fullest and everyone around him enjoyed him to the fullest.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn; his children, Diana Annis and her husband, Donald, of Norton, Mass., George Peavey and his wife, Teena, of Lake City, Fla., Kenneth Peavey of Lake City, Fla., and Kristy Gary of Brewer; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; his sister, Diane Skinner and her husband, Allen, of Summerfield, Fla.; brothers, David Peavey of Rockport, Texas, Joseph and his wife, Janice, of Bangor, Victor and his wife, Crystal, of Glenburn and James of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friends, Sue and Vin Grover; and lifelong fishing buddies, Gerald Clapp and Allen Skinner.

PEAVEY, GILMAN H..

HERMON, ME

Gilman Henry Peavey Sr., 84, passed away Feb. 24, 2009, at his home in Hermon. He was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Bangor, the son of George Ivory and Stella Perkins Peavey. Gilman was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1943.

During his younger years he was self-employed and owned and operated Peavey's Garage, Hermon Junction and several other small businesses. He worked 30 years at Acme-Dunham, Bangor, retiring in 1980. During his later years, he was involved in purchasing, renovating, selling and renting apartment houses in the Bangor area. He enjoyed many great times with family and friends at his camp at Moulton Pond, Dedham.

Gilman served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, serving in the Pacific, 1943-1946. At the time of his discharge he was a staff sergeant and his love for the U.S. Marines was quite evident. He was a member of Lynde Masonic Lodge No. 174 AF & AM of Hermon. Gilman, in his earlier years, was also active in Hermon town government, having served on town council and budget committees and acted as code enforcement officer and building inspector for the town of Hermon.

Gilman is survived by three sisters, Harriet "Blondie" Beaulieu and her husband, Roland, of Orlando, Fla., Judy "Red" LeClerc of Tiburon, Calif., and Bertha "Betty" Kirk and her husband, George, of Orlando, Fla. He was predeceased by his brother, George Peavey and his wife, Arlene, of Boulder City, Nev. Gilman was also predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Elsie Peavey Hand, formerly of Carmel. In addition he is survived by his three children, Gilman H. Peavey Jr. and his wife, Vicky, of Carmel, Janet Peavey Brown of Hermon and Michael E. Peavey and his wife, Brenda, of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by special friends, Jerry Rogers of Bangor and Galen and Julie Mayhew of Carmel, and many other good friends.

A celebration of Gilman's life will be held noon Saturday, Feb. 28, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, conducted by the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church. Family and friends may visit 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment in the springtime will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Gilman's memory may be made to Lynde Lodge No. 174, care of Ted McLeod Jr., P.O. Gwendolyn B. Gray, 90, died March 11, 2006, at a Pittsfield healthcare facility after a short period of ill health. She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Canaan, the daughter of Walter and Beulah (Bickford) Peavey.

She was educated in Canaan schools. Gwendolyn was married to Kenneth N. Gray, who died July of 1989 after 57 years of marriage. She worked for many years at Edward Technology in Pittsfield. Gwendolyn liked spending time with her family and she took great pride in keeping her home and yard looking good.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Gray of Troy; one sister, Leona Robinson of Clinton; nine grandchildren, one of them is Ricky Gray of Corinna who she raised; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband and five daughters, Beverly, Faylene, Marlene, Sandra and Sally.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at the family lot at the Village Cemetery in Pittsfield.

Mrs. Helen (Peavey) Jameson of Bangor, widow of Wilfred H. Jameson, died Monday night Dec 31, 1962 at her home, 97 Fern Street, after a long illness.

Born in Haverhill, Mass the daughter of John and Annie (Murphy) Peavey, she lived in Bangor the past 39 years where she was a member of the St. Johns Catholic Church. She was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and was a concert pianist in New York City.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Fred Weber of Bangor, and Miss Christina Jameson of Bangor; a son Gilbert H. of Bangor; a sister, Mrs. Alice Lawler of Bradford Mass; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jeannette M. Peavey, 83, of Winslow, died unexpectedly on Thursday May 17, 2007, at Inland Hospital. She was born May 5, 1934, in Winslow, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Bourque.

Jeannette married Raymond Duguay in 1941. They had four children, Dorothea, Walter, Alice and David. She worked for many years at the Diamond National and Cascade Woolen Mill in Oakland. In 1975, she married Paul Peavey. Together they enjoyed their home on the Country Club Road in Oakland. Jeannette especially loved mowing on her tractor. She was an avid Red Sox fan and watched the games faithfully. She made delicious pies for the Pine Acres Restaurant in Oakland and for her friends and family.

She was predeceased by her husbands Raymond Duguay, and Paul Peavey; two sons, Walter and David;her brothers Patrick, Wallace and Richard Bourque.

She is survived by two loving daughters, Alice and husband Dale Burrill of Cannan, Dorothea of Hudson, N.H., sisters Joan Moore of Sanford, N.C. and Juliette Young of Madison; daughter-in-law Shirley and husband, David Young, of Oakland, longtime friend Ruth Ives of Hudson, N.H. five grandchildren, Holly Duguay and fianc�e Timothy Toothaker of Jay; Andrea and husband, Ruben Lemelin of Vassalboro; Joy and husband Matthew Charles of Oakland; Erin Dustin and fianc�, Richard Pierce, of Westbrook; David Duguay of Waterville, five great-grandchildren, Dinah Lemelin; Dawson, Tucker, and Journey Charles and Zakary Toothaker.

At Jeannette�s request their will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held Wednesday May 23, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 70 Grove St. Waterville with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating.

Juliet "Julie" Anne (Peavey) Parent, 68, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 5, 1941, in Bangor, the daughter of Charles Fulton and Louise (Stratton) Peavey.

Julie was a 1959 graduate of John Bapst High School. She enjoyed a long career as a nurse's technician at Eastern Maine Medical Center and enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, entertaining and traveling the world.

Julie is survived by her loving husband, Richard Parent of Orrington; sons, Shawn and Chris Dougherty of Bangor and Scott Parent and his wife, Patty, of Orrington; daughters, Kathleen Jackson and Colleen Dougherty of Bangor and Shelley Burns and her husband, Norman, of Levant; brothers, David Peavey and his wife, Laura, of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Larry Peavey and his wife, Sharon, of Swansville; sisters, Priscilla Peavey of North Chelmsford, Mass., and Rosemary Hepler and her husband, Keith, of Galloway, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashley, Cristine, Lilly, Sarah, Hillary, Stephanie, Kyle, and Emily; great-grandchildren, Collin and Connor; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Aileen.

Leona Pearle Robinson, 97, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Woodlawn Rehabilitation & Nursing Home in Skowhegan with her family by her side. She was a previous resident of 1112 River Road in Clinton.

Leona was born in Canaan, ME on July 28, 1911, the daughter of Walter and Beulah (Bickford) Peavey. She attended school in Shawmut.

Her favorite love was taking care of family and friends. She was Gram to many. She loved to cook and was famous for her bean-hole beans and homemade bread. She also loved music and dancing, and could catch a fish better then most fishermen with just a hand reel. She loved to travel and always had her suitcase packed.

Leona was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Beulah Peavey; her spouse, Joseph Robinson; her son, Charles Robinson and his wife, Vivian, and their daughter Sylvia Kidd; daughter in-law, Ella Peavey; son in-law, Clyde Spaulding; grandchildren, Charles Robinson Jr., Martha Robinson, Carl Robinson, Todd and Randy McLain; great-grandsons, Michael White, Michael Gentile, and Jason Austin; and siblings, Walter Peavey, Beatrice Loubier and her husband, Zab, Gwendolyn Gray and her husband, Kenneth, and Benson Peavey.

She is survived by a son, Leon Peavey of Benton; daughters, Virginia Spaulding and Inez Moody of Waterville; son-in-law, Bobby Kidd of Massachusetts; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Duke Wheeler.

Lottie Peavey, 89, loving wife of the late George J. Peavey, who died Dec. 14, 1974, went to be with her Lord April 6, 2011, in Patten. She was born April 27, 1921, in Stockholm, daughter of Joseph and Phoebe (Bourgoine) Bossie. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Sodality. Lottie had worked at plywood mills and at Mount Heights Nursing, Patten. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by seven children, Catherine and Scott Farnum of Monmouth, James and Parichat peavey of Patten, Sheila and Orval Roberson of North Hill, Calif., John and April peavey of Patten, Anita and Robert Willett of Patten, Jerry and Dorothy Peavey of Patten, and Teresa and Dwaine Lord of Patten; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; a close friend, Karen Glidden; and many other friends too numerous to mention. She was the last of her siblings.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bowers Funeral Home, Sherman Street, Island Falls. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Island Falls. A time of fellowship will be immediately after at the church. Spring interment will be at Patten Cemetery.

The many Dexter friends of Mrs. Mabel Dunham Vogt, 63, were saddened to learn of her death Friday night at her winter home in Hialeah Florida. Although she has been ill since last July and had undergone two surgical operations, her condition seemed greatly improved and her sudden death was most unexpected.

Mrs. Vogt was born in Boston and came to Dexter with her family when she was twelve years of age. In 1893 she was married to William F.Dunham and went to live on the large farm, formerly known as the Dunham place above Lake Wassookeag. A few years before his death, eleven years ago, they bought a home in Florida and spent their winters there. In 1929 she married Mr. Vogt, a prosperous farmer of Alger, Ohio, still maintaining the winter home in Hialeah.

Mrs. Vogt was a member of the Dexter Universalist church, Martha Washington Rebekah lodge and Dexter Grange, and was an active worker in the interests of any organization with which she was affiliated.

Surviving besides the husband, is a daughter, Mrs. Anna Thiel, a registered pharmacist in Miami, two granddaughters, Annette and Barbara Thiel; a sister, Mrs. Charles Dudley of Dexter and three brothers, Ivory Peavey of Bangor, M. H. Peavey of Massachusetts and E. J. Peavey of Garland, also several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Grace, passed away seventeen years ago.

Mrs. Thiel will accompany her mother's remains to Dexter for interment in the Dunham lot at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in June.

Madeline Jeannette (Peavey) Brown, 78, died Jan. 19, 2006, at Patten, with her daughter at her side. She was born May 19, 1927, in Patten, the daughter of George and Lena (Michaud) Peavey.

She was a member of the St. Paul's Sodality and had worked at Huber's Mill in Patten. She and her husband, Robert were also caretakers of estates in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

She is survived by three children, Robert Francis Brown and his wife, Brigitte, of Westminster, Colo., William Paul Brown and his wife, Kathy, of Mount Vernon and Linda Jean (Brown) Greeley and her companion, Larry Dockins, of Patten; seven grandchildren, Jessica Soper, Garrett and Travis Brown, Paul and Robert Brown, Kristi Ferro, and Ben Greeley; and four great-grandchildren, Lydia and Elyse Brown, Alyssa Soper and Sierra LaCroix; one sister, Ruth MacKenzie of Agawam, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1988; and one son, Gary in 1979; two brothers, Robert and George; and one sister, Mary Hatt.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Peavey, 79 were held Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at the Crosby Funeral Parlor, the Rev Gordon C. Reardon, of the First Universalist church officiating.

Bearers were Charlie Hall, Edward Peavey, Norman Titcomb, and Ervin Colbath. Burial was at the Morse's Corner Cemetery in Corinna.

Mrs. Peavey who was formally of Newport, died at Bangor Hospital, September 28,after a long illness.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Titcomb, of Exeter and Mrs. Charlie (Leona) Hall of Dexter, three grand-children, Norman E. Titcomb of Exeter, Marilyn A. and Jacquelyn M. Hall of Dexter; also a sister, Mrs. Florence Colbath of Exeter. Among those from out of town attending the services were Mrs Titcomb and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Colbath of Exeter, and Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Lawrence of Stetson.

MARY E. PEAVEY, 52 of Liberty, passed away December 29, 2012 at Winship Green in Wiscasset. She was born in Bath ME May 26, 1960, daughter of Richard and Pearl (Hathorne) Chadbourne. She drove school buses for District #3 and enjoyed her work as an EMT for Liberty Volunteer Ambulance. Mary also worked with disabled children and adults. She had a love for horses all of her life started a handicap riding program.

Phyllis E. Peavey, 78, of Isthmus Road, died on March 15, 2007, with her daughter at her side at the Rumford Community Home, where she had been a resident for the past nine years.

She was born in Rockland on April 8, 1928, a daughter of Eugene and Mary (Cushing) Metcalf. She was educated in Rockland schools, lived in Portland for 25 years and has since been a resident of the Rumford community since 1979.

She was a homemaker after getting married to Warren E. Peavey Sr., who predeceased her on Feb. 7, 1993.

Phyllis attended St. Athanasius & St. John's Church and was a very devoted Catholic whose faith remained strong her whole life as she endured many troubled times throughout her years, but is now at peace with her Lord.

Along with her devotion to the church, she simply loved her children as a mother does. She leaves five daughters, Mary E. Coffin and her companion, Terry Bernard of Rumford, Barbara Coffin of Providence, RI, Patricia Simoneau and husband, Rick of West Kennebunk, Betty Ramey of Portland and Elizabeth Peavey of Skowhegan; three sons, Warren Peavey, Jr. of Portland, Franklin Peavey and wife, Wella of Providence, RI, and Robert Peavey, also of Portland; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Giggy and Kathleen Prindall, both of Freeport; and a brother, Philip Metcalf and wife, Beverly of Oxford.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Athanasius-St. John's Church at noon Saturday. Interment will take place in the spring in the family lot at St. John's Cemetery

PEAVEY, SAMUEL ROSWELL.

Mr. S. Roswell Peavey died with startling suddenness Tuesday morning in his 65th year at his home on Newmarket road, being stricken while seated at the breakfast table. He quickly expired. On Monday he visited the village and in a chat at the NEWS-LETTER office seemed in his usual health and in excellent spirits.

Mr. Peavey was born in Exeter June 14, 1847, the son of Samuel and Sarah Gilman Peavey. He had spent his entire life on the homestead farm, which borders on the Squamscott, and the Appurtenant fisheries long furnished Mr. Peavey a lucrative avocation. He casually remarked Monday that he could not now endure the night work thus entailed at certain stages of the tide.

He has left his wife; two sons, Leroy D. Peavey of Malden, Mass., who graduated from the Academy in 1894 and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1898, and Frank G. Peavey, who lives at home; also a sister Mrs. Charles H. Bickford.

The funeral will be at 2pm today and will be conducted by Rev. Herbert F. Quimby, the Red Med co-operating.

Shirley Carson Peavey passed away quietly and peacefully with her loving children by her side on May28, 2009, at Bay Square in Yarmouth. She was 81 years old. Born in Portland on July 4, 1927 and raised in Gorham, she was the daughter of Solomon J. and Annie M. Carson.

She attended local schools and graduated from Gorham High in 1946. She also attended Westbrook Junior College. In 1947, she married H. William Peavey, who predeceased her in 1985. She was also predeceased by her brothers Clayton and Roy Carson.

Shirley lived in Bath for over 50 years, where she was active in the community. She taught nursery school, first at home, and then at the YMCA. In 1972, she went to work as a secretary/receptionist for Pine Tree Society, where she remained until retirement. She was a member of numerous civic and charitable organizations; most notably, she served as President of the Bath Junior Hospital League, spearheading its first annual Bath Antiques Show in 1962. She was a longtime volunteer with Meals on Wheels, as well as the Maine Maritime Museum, where she was a guide aboard the Sherman Zwicker. She was congregant of the United Church of Christ and taught Sunday school there. She belonged to the Bath Country Club and the Maine Pines tennis club in Brunswick for many years, where she organized a number of leagues. She loved animals, was an avid gardener and the head of maintenance of her beautiful yet challenging 1858 farmhouse on High Street, which was featured in the 1996 Bath Home Tour. She moved to Signature Pines in Brunswick in 2003, where she resided until recently.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Peavey and his wife Judy of Westport Island, and James Peavey of Georgetown, a daughter, Elizabeth Peavey and her husband John McLoughlin of Portland; by three grandchildren, Heather, Matthew and Luke Peavey, all of New York City; a cousin, Audrey Driskell of Portland; one niece and three nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. Thelma L. Peavey, 96, wife of the late F. Arnold Peavey, died May 22, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility.

She was born Oct. 5, 1910, in Addison, the daughter of Nellie A Grant. Thelma was a member of the Columbia Street Baptist Church, Bangor. She worked at Freese's department store, Bangor, as a store clerk for several years. Thelma enjoyed her several family dogs especially Chubby.

She is survived by two nephews, Ralph Grant and his wife, Charlene, of Bucksport, and Charles Oliver and his wife, Susan, of Lee; several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her mother and her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.

A funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Peter Sprague, pastor of Columbia Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.

Verle served as town clerk for the Town of Stetson, and was a member of the Stetson Union Church, and the church ladies aide. She was employed for over 10 years as executive secretary to the Chancellor of the University of Maine System, retiring in 1987. She was also a member of the Corinna American Legion Auxiliary. Verle moved to Corinna 4 years ago, and attended the Pleasant Street Christian Church.

Walter "Bud" W. Peavey, of Winslow passed away peacefully, following a long illness, with his loving family by his side on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Bud was born in Waterville on Aug. 15, 1956, the son of the late Walter and Edna (Miller) Peavey.

Following his schooling, he served with the Army. On April 25, 1987, he married the love of his life, the former Deanna Chapman.

Bud's greatest joys in life were his family and his African gray parrot, Buddy. He loved going for rides in his convertible with Buddy. Bud also enjoyed the holidays, especially decorating for Christmas. He was a true Mainer with a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed making people laugh.

Bud will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Deanna Peavey; his sisters, Linda Pickering of Winslow, Joyce Clark and her husband, George, of Winslow, and Shirley Roderick and her husband, Gordon, of Waterville; his aunt, Carlene Miller of Winslow; his brothers-in-law, Carl Chapman of Albion and Robert Chapman and his wife, Darlene of Unity; his in-laws, Robert and Evelyn Chapman of Albion; and several nieces and nephews.

MCCUTCHANVILLE, ME - Burial - No Town Given for Death - probably in Maine

Services for Mrs. Lenora (Peva) McCutchan, 85, former Tri-State area schoolteacher, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McCutchanville Methodist Church. The Rev. Ronald Mercer will officiate, burial at McCutchanville Church Cemetery.

Mrs. McCutchan died at 11:07 a.m. Tuesday at Deaconess Hospital, being ill since Christmas and entering hospital three weeks ago.

Before her marriage to Thomas McCutchan in 1910, she taught at McCutchanville, Stringtown, Union Township, and the old Mt. Pleasant Schools. She had studied at Indiana State College at Terre Haute, Ind.

A native of Union Township, she had lived at McCutchanville for many years. Husband Dead - Mrs. McCutchan was the widow of a former Vanderburgh County State representative and County commissioner, who was a descendant of McCutchanville pioneer settlers. He died 26 years ago. Her father, Capt. George Peva, was a Civil War veteran, and also a County commissioner.

She was a member of McCutchanville Methodist Church and Women's Society of Christian Service of the church, & Helen B. Cole Tent of the Daughters of the Civil War. Survivors include her son, Kenneth McCutchan, a WILY radio station staff member.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Robert Greek Morturary. The body will be at the church after 11 a.m. Thursday.

On 8 Jun 1929 he married Catherine Boyle. Mr. Peva was an X-ray engineer employed by General Electric and Picker C-Ray, Boston. After retiring in 1958, he owned and operated Stan's Trading Post. He was a hunter &; fisherman, and a former member of Sebasticook Fish and Game Club.

Surviving are his wife of Newport, two sons, Stanley W. Peva, Jr., of Salem, NH, and James M. Peva of Ellsworth; a daughter Virginia Mansfield of Reading, Mass; a sister Hilda Nelson of Wilmington, Mass; eight grandchildren & three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home, 24 High St. The Rev. Wayne Shontz will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery

MCCUTCHENVILLE, ME

Mrs. Susan PEVA, aged 80 years, the widow of Capt. George Peva, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas McCutchan near McCutchanville, last Saturday afternoon. Surviving is the daughter whose tender care for her mother during many years of invalidism lengthened her life beyond the ordinary span allotted to mankind.

A son Richard Peva, died a few weeks ago and Monday afternoon the frail body of the mother joined him in the family burial ground at McCutchanville. Ten grandchildren of whom Mrs. Clarence P Wolfe is one, and one great grandson also survive.

Mrs. Peva retained every faculty until the last hour and the alertness and cheerfulness that always made her a desirable companion remained with her to the end of a life full of usefulness and goodness to those around her.
Her husband, Capt. George Peva, passed away 27 years ago and since that time she has resided with her daughter whose richest heritage will be the memory of love and care she gave her mother.

PEVA, WILLIAM H.

The funeral of William H. Peva was held from the home, 41 Howard street, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Hugh C. Burr, pastor of the Portland Street Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Robert L. Webb, Ph.D., a former pastor.

Many friends were present and members of the several organizations with which he was affiliated, which are Post 47, G. A. R., Merrimack Lodge of Masons, and Burtt lodge, O. U. A. M.

The concluding service was conducted by members of Post 47, G. A. R., vocal selections were rendered by Edward L. Gerry. There were many flowers.

The bearers represented each organization with which he was connected. Burial was in the family lot in Exeter, N.H. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Mary Lyford Peva, a nephew and niece in Evansville, Ind. And a cousin in Gardiner, Me.

Mr. Peva was born in Windsor, Me., Dec. 3, 1841. In the Civil War he was assigned to Co. G, 11th regiment, Maine Infantry. On Aug. 14, 1864, he was seriously wounded in the battle of Deep Bottom, VA., and was confined in the military hospital for several months, not being able to be discharged till after the close of the war. He returned to his home town and remained there till coming to Haverhill in 1871 where he has since resided. He followed his trade as a carpenter till 1882 when he entered the employ of L. C. Waldeigh and Sons last factory and continued in their employ until compelled by failing health to resign about one year ago.

Arthur W. Peverly, 86, longtime resident of Kittery, died at York Hospital Oct. 17, 2007.

He was born in Melrose, Mass., Feb. 5, 1921, to Harry R. and Edith O. (Manning) Peverly, he graduated from Melrose High School (1938) and Northeastern University (1943).

He worked at Simplex in Cambridge, Mass. (two years); General Electric in Lynn, Mass. (two years); and at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., for the Army (four years).

He was married to Elaine Buck in May 1944, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Peverly, and children: Donna Taranko-Moulton and husband Kenneth Moulton of Weston, Vt.; Craig and his wife Shirley of York; Marcia Peverly of Kittery; and Robert and his wife Jennifer of Northwood; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Andrew and Amy Taranko and Christopher, Alyson and Benjamin Peverly; six great-grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Buck of Portsmouth.

WE REMEMBER: He worked for Simplex in Newington, retiring from there in 1984 after 38 years as an engineer. He has since been active in the Simplex (TYCO) retirees group, and was a member of ASME and SME. He was active in the town of Kittery as chairman of the Planning Board, worked on many town elections and other town activities. He was named Citizen of the Year in 1992. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

He was an active member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Kittery, being chairman of the board of trustees, a member of the church choir, and was helpful in many other church activities. For many years, he and member Varrell Wakefield managed the church bottle and can operation whose proceeds are used to help the needy.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the J.S Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 60 Government St., Kittery, followed by a time of visitation and refreshments in the church vestry. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Kittery, to York Hospital Cardiac Rehab, or to a charity of one's choice. Arthur's care has been entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home.

Edward D. Peverley 89, died Friday June 18, 1976 at the home of Mrs. Eva Bearce, 31 Park St. where he had made his home for the past 19 years. He was a resident of the original Campbell Grant, Minot.

He was born in. Bryant Pond , Nov 18, 1886 the son of Dexter and Effie Halkett Peverley. He attended Gould Academy for two years and graduated from Paris High School class of 1907. Mr Peverley also attended summer sessions at Gorham Normal School and Columbia University. He was married to the former L. Agnas Campbell, Feb 2, 1917, she died in 1949.

He served in France with the US Army during World War I. Mr Peverley worked here at the Ripley & Fletcher Co. and taught manual training for several years at Wakefield High School, Wakefield MA, Cony High School Augusta and at the VA Center Togus. He was in partnership in a wood turning mill in West Paris for a time known as Wilson & Peverley Mill and later worked for JW Penney and Son co , machine shop in Mechanic Falls.

He was a 65 year member of Jefferson Lodge AF and AM Bryant Pond, a member of the Oxford Council R and SM, a 50 year member of Royal Arch Chapter, both of Norway ME, Oriental Commandery of Brighton, member of the south Paris senior citizens , the Veterans of World War I Barracks and he was past secretary of the Retired Teachers assn. of South Paris.

His nearest survivor is a niece.

Masonic memorial services from Universailist Church with interment at maple Grove Cemetery in Mechanic Falls.

Lyman E. Pevey Sr., 89, formerly of Ossipee and Chelmsford, Mass., died June 16, 1999 at York Hospital in York, Maine.

He was born December 1, 1909 in Lowell, Mass., the son of the late John and Susan Richardson Pevey. He graduated from Chemsford High School and attended art school in Boston.

Mr. Pevey retired in 1970 as vice president of Wright Trucking Co. in Lowell. He was a Mason, initially affiliated with William Sewall Gardner Lodge in Lowell, and recently the Unity Lodge in Union ME.

He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and painting landscapes, flowers, ships and local scenes.

His family includes his wife of 66 years, Ruth M. Carlsen Pevey of York, Maine; a son, Lyman E. Pevey Jr. of Gaithersburg, Md.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 1999 at the Second Congregational Church in Ossipee. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Danvers, Mass. Donations in Mr. Pevey's memory, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Caregivers, First Congregational Church of Wolfeboro, P.O. Box 913, Wolfeboro, NH 03894.

Michael A. Driscoll, 35, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at a Brunswick hospital.

He was born in Brunswick on Nov. 18, 1973, the son of Frank M. Peavey Jr. and Deborah A. Driscoll. He attended Brunswick schools including Brunswick High School.

He was a mechanic for 15 years and had worked at VIP and several other companies. He enjoyed working on trucks and riding four wheelers and dirt bikes. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking out and sitting by the fire.

Surviving are his wife of six years, Michelle (Waterman) Driscoll of Litchfield; two sons, Cody and Kyle, both of Litchfield; a daughter, Breanna Driscoll of Litchfield; his father of East Baldwin; his mother of Topsham; two brothers, Adam Kwiek and Christopher Kwiek, both of Virginia; his paternal grandfather, Frank M. Peavey Sr. of Freeport; his paternal grandmother, Alice Weitzell of Portland; and his maternal grandmother, Frances M. Driscoll of Lewiston.

DEXTER - Robert Charles Dudley, 90, died Feb. 13, 2011, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born Oct. 27, 1920, in Dexter, son of Walter and Ruth (Towle) Dudley. He graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1939. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II, and served in the South Pacific. After the war he moved to Hialeah, Fla., where he attended the University of Florida and met his future wife, Jeanne Ellsworth. Robert and Jeanne moved back to Maine in 1947, where he worked as a cattle dealer and later as a store manager for the Maine State Liquor Commission, retiring in 1988.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne (Ellsworth) Dudley, in 2005; and a son, Charles, in 1989. He is survived by a son, Robert Dudley of Dexter; three daughters, Julie Keyte and her companion, Thomas Goldsmith, of Dexter, Nancy Tasker and her husband, Richard, of Plymouth and Carla Witham and her husband, Barry, of Stetson; three grandchildren, Scott White, Caryl White and Philip Landry; and three great-grandchildren. Marilyn Anne Halle died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at her home. Born Jan. 30, 1933, in Dexter, Maine, to Leona R. Hall (Peavey) and Charles E. Hall, she was predeceased by a sister, Jacquelyn McKenney of Dexter.

She is survived by four daughters, Kathy Rinn of Tucson, Ariz., Nancy Rinn-O'Donnell of Santa Barbara, Calif., Marilyn Rinn of Cape Neddick, Maine, and Jane Rinn of Medford, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.

Marilyn graduated from Portland High School, attended Becker Jr. College in Worcester, Mass., married and moved to Pennsylvania where she received a bachelor of arts degree in political science, and, in 1975, a master's in education at the University of Pittsburgh.

Marilyn returned to New England in 1978, where she worked in various jobs as a professional counselor, and ended her career as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the state of New Hampshire

. Upon retirement in 2004, she returned to her beloved Maine. Memorial contributions may be made to Another Chance Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 552, North Berwick, ME 03906, or to a charity of one's choice. A memorial gathering will be held by the family in September. Sandra M. Keeping, 66, of Littlefield Road, passed away peacefully at her residence Jan. 1, 2005.

She was born Sept. 30, 1938 in Detroit, Maine, a daughter of Kenneth and Gwendolyn (Peavey) Gray. She was a 1956 graduate of Newport High School in Newport, Maine. She enjoyed her family, friends and all of her relatives. She was an avid traveler and very proud that she had visited all 50 states.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Paul R. Keeping of Wells; two sons, Paul Keeping Jr. and his wife Cindy of Montgomery, Ala. and Kurt A. Keeping of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Cynthia Lee Williams of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; one sister, Peggy Gray of Plymouth, Maine; seven grandchildren, Clint Douglas, Katie Marie and Jake Daniel Williams, Christopher Paul and Kayla Marie Keeping, Autumn Tucker and Aaron Welsh; and one great-granddaughter, Annabelle Grace Tucker.

A graveside service was held on Monday in the Ocean View Cemetery in Wells, with Rev. Herbert Henry of the Congregational Church of Wells officiating.

(Peavey) Robinson, of Clinton, Maine; two step-sons, Tony Kidd and his wife, Kitty, of Alabama and Jeffrey Kidd, and his wife, Dena, of Dalton, Ill.; a step-daughter, Victoria Kidd, of Dalton, Ill.; a brother, Leon Peavey of Benton, Maine; two sisters, Inez Moody, of Fairfield, Maine and Virginia Spaulding and her husband, Clyde, of Clinton, Maine; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph I. Robinson, and her brother, Charles Robinson.

She was an active member of the Hope Christian Church, and Southbridge Relay for Life. She enjoyed Bingo. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at Hope Christian Church, Haggerty Road, Charlton.

Jacquelyn Mary (Hall) Tempesta McKenney, 71, died May 11, 2006, at her home in Dexter. She was born June 6, 1934, in Garland, the daughter of Charlie and Leona (Peavey) Hall.

After graduating from high school, Jackie worked for a summer at her grandfather's canning factory. That fall she entered Mount Ida Junior College with a divided major in commercial course/flight attendant with a minor in horseback riding. Averaging three hours a day riding, she still managed to stay on the Dean's List. In 1954, she graduated and got married, both in the month of June, and proceeded to have four children over the next six years.

In 1963, they built the Dexter Motor Lodge. Jackie was very active in community affairs including, Cub Scout den mother, Brownie Girl Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, member of the Parish Council, church choir, Dexter Women's Literary Club, charter member of the Dexter Aero Club, ambulance attendant, Deputy Sheriff, Dexter Sunrise Kiwanis, cooking for church suppers, providing the annual 4th of July lobster cookouts for family and friends, the 99's, the Maine Wing, Civil Air Patrol and was serving as a Mission Qualified Search & Rescue Pilot. Jackie traveled extensively, including trips to southern and southwest United States, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, Bahamas, Portugal, and Scotland. Her goal in life was to become a commercial pilot and eventually she was able to do some "flying for hire."

She is survived by her husband, Reginald T. McKenney of Dexter; four children, Al of Dexter, Terri of Newport Beach, Calif., Toni of Atlanta, Ga., and Lisa of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Travis, Ashley, Jessica, and Matthew.

A celebration of her life will be held 1-4 p.m., Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Dexter United Methodist Church, Lower Main Street, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the Oncology Clinic, Mayo Regional Hospital, 897 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.

Richard J. "Dick" Nelson, 61, of East Dixfield, died Nov 3, 2004 unexpectedly of natural causes, doing what he loved at his favorite hunting spot in Canton.

Born in Wilton, Aug. 15, 1943, a son of Manley E. and Blanche (Peavey) Nelson, he received his education in local schools and married Sandra Brann, of Wilton. He retired from IP after 43 years of service.

An outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a lifetime member of the Wilton Fish and Game and was a member of the NRA. He was also a member of the Wilson Lake Country Club and the First Congregational Church, Wilton.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra B. Nelson, of East Dixfield; one son, Richard J. Nelson II and his wife, JoEllen Nelson, of Wilton; a daughter, Rebecca J. Nelson and her companion, Randy Oliver, of Farmington; a sister, Joyce Palmer and her husband, Kurt, of Norway and their sons, Jeff Palmer and Jim Palmer and his wife, Norma; and two stepgrandchildren, Joey Thibodeau and Justyn Judkins.

Flora (Kalloch) Peavey Place 91, wife of Max E. Place. died Feb. 11, 2002, in Dover-Foxcroft) ME in nursing home.

She was born May 9, 1910 in Fort Fairfield ME, the daughter of Edith (Pitzherbert) and Rodney Kalloch. She graduated from Ft. Fairfield High School in 1930, and in 1933 she completed a course in home nursing (now L.P.N.) in Bangor ME.

In 1932. she married Freeland W. Peavey of Bangor, who predeceased her in 1973. They moved to Shelton, CT. in later years operating PV Electric, a paint store and other enterprises. After retiring from business in 1980, she moved to North Kingstown, RI.

In 1989, she married Max F. Place and moved to Milo [Maine]. Mrs. Place was active in many social groups, including genealogy, philatelic society, creative writing, and poetry. She was a member of the senior citizens associations in Shelton, Conn. and Kingstown, RI; Garden Club, Key Club. Aldworth Chapter #39 OES, and attended the United Baptist Church of Milo for many years. For several years she wrote a column entitled ?As I Gather it? for a local paper in Derby, Conn. She was a published poetess and her book of poems, ?As I Gather It? was published in Cambridge, England in 1989. In 1987, she received the Silver Poets Award and in 1988, the Golden Poets Award from World of Poetry, Her poems were also published in New American Anthropology and other publications. Her name was recorded in the Senior Hall of Fame in Everett, Wa., at the same time as Guy, Edmund Muskie and Sen. Edward Kennedy and others.

She is survived by her husband. Max of Milo: a daughter, Madeline T. Deamico Wing and her husband. Dr. Walter F. Wing of North Kingstown, RI: a son, Richard A. Peavey and his wife Janet of Garland, Texas; four granddaughters, Maria A. King. Angela M. Kutlick, Theresa A. and her husband, Bruce Johnson, Ahnna E. Peavey: a great-granddaughter: a great-grandson, Seth Raymond Johnson; two nieces, Dorothy V. Scott, Eleanor S. Braunmuller; many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Place was predeceased by a son, Rodney Peavey in 1974: three sisters, Alta Scott, Thelma V. Bennett, Cleo Johnson, and a nephew, Robert Scott.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to North Kingstown RI Senior Citizens Center, Beechwood House.

NEWPORT ME - Marlene D. (Gray) Reblin, 65, of Newport died Saturday, April 14, 2001 at the Sebasticook Hospital in Pittsfield.

She was born on May 20, 1935 in Detroit, Maine the daughter of Kenneth and Gwendolyn (Peavey) Gray. She attended Newport schools. She worked as a Beautician and enjoyed working with harness horses for the past few years she enjoyed working and making ceramics.

She will be remembered for loving all children and will be known as one who enjoyed and lived life her way. She is predeceased by her father, Kenneth Gray who died in 1989.

She is survived by her mother, Gwendolyn Gray of Plymouth, Maine, one son, Ricky Gray of Newport, 3 sisters, Sandra Keeping of Wells, Sally Malcolm of Plymouth, and Peggy Gray of Plymouth as well as several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Village Cemetery in Pittsfield. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 346, Augusta, Maine 04332.

Brantin D. Webster, 2 years old of Searsmont, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on January 16, 2011. He was born December 15, 2008 in Waterville, the son of Scott A. Webster and Mindy L. Boon. Brantin was addicted to bug juice and food. He enjoyed swimming, running around outside in the summertime, watching football, cooking with his mom, and turning the TV off while his brother was watching. He will be remembered for his talent to make anyone smile, his active and energetic spirit, for being the light of his family�s life, and for raising hell with the rest of the kids.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother Claire W. Boon. Don Elwood Wood, 59, of Livermore Falls, died in the early evening Sunday, Nov. 11, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on March 7, 1949, in Farmington, the son of Chester Elwood and Beatrice Jane (Peavey) Wood. Don graduated from Wilton Academy in 1966, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from September 1966 to September 1972.

He worked for various construction companies throughout the country and enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles, racing, truck pulling and his annual trips to Sturgis.

He is survived by his wife, Anita "Birdie" (Houle) Wood, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1986, at the Little Chapel of Flowers in Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, John Wood and his wife, Linda, of Alton; a sister, Sylvia Holman of Green River, Wyo.; a special nephew, Brent Holman of Green River, Wyo.; a daughter, Heidi Charity; a son, Scott Wood; grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends; his dog, "Rusty"; and a cat, "Little Guy."

He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Mary.

John A. Wood, 63, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, April 12, 2009, at his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 24, 1945, in Dryden, a son of Chester and Beatrice (Peavey) Wood.

Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Bruce Stevens officiating.

Interment will be at a later date at Alton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Northern Penobscot Pullers Association, care of Tiffany Clay, 251 Lee Road, Lincoln, ME 04457.
