PEAVEY, EUGENE J.

BELLA VISTA, AR

Eugene J. "Gene" Peavey, 78, of Bella Vista, Ark. died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at the Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Ark. He was born March 1, 1927, in Wichita, Kan., to Sherman Hoffman Peavey and Edna Florence (Giffin) Peavey.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was employed by Southwestern Bell as a telephone technician until he retired on February 17, 1989 after more than 36 years. He relocated to Bella Vista in August of 1999 from Houston, Texas. He enjoyed golfing, listening to music and singing, gardening and flying. He received his private pilot�s license in the 1970�s. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a Christian.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin Thurston Peavey, Donald Lee Peavey and Herbert Vernon Peavey.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Jean (Ratcliff) Peavey; a son and daughter-in-law Gary E. Rider and Mary Rider of Keller, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Jeannie Morey and her husband Roger Morey of Jane, Mo., and Jackie Kulow and her husband Mark Kulow of Pine, Colo.; a brother Grayston B. Peavey of Wichita; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 25, with the family meeting friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Bella Vista Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Haffecke.

Burial will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Dorothy J. Mortensen, 4 Kensington Lane, Bella Vista, AR 72714.

(PEEVEY) LUCY MAE VERBECK

DOUGLAS, AZ

Lucy Mae Verbeck born to Joseph and Sarah Peevey on November 8, 1929 in Douglas, Arizona, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2012.

She was married to Ralph Statler in June, 1947. Lucy and Ralph had five children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a daughter, Karen; sons, Gregory and Edward and her second husband, Stanley Verbeck. She is survived by her son, Dan Statler and her daughter, Debra Short.

Lucy lived a life full of joy and love for her family and will be missed by all who knew her. We are comforted to know that she is at home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Desert Son Community Church, 525 W. Cortaro Farms Rd. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.

MARICOPA, AZ

Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. for longtime Maricopa resident Mary R. "Betsy" Peevy, 73. Mrs. Peevy was born in Oklahoma on February 10, 1929 and passed away in Hanford on August 29, 2003. She had lived in Maricopa for the last 46 years.

Mrs. Peevy was preceded in death by her husband, Troy C. Peevy; her son, Phillip Peevy and by her daughter, Rebecca Haskell. She is survived by her children, Thomas Peevy, Joyce Pierson, Larry Peevy, Michael Peevy, Johnny Peevy, and Pamala Smith; her several grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

No visitation hours and the services are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.

HUBBARD, GEORGE JACK

SUN CITY WEST, AZ

George Jack Hubbard, 84, of Sun City West, Ariz., left this world to be with Jesus on Oct. 21, 2007. He was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 13, 1923, to George N. and Flora Ann Wharton Hubbard.

George graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, and The University of Texas at Austin, after serving as a Navy fighter pilot in World War II.

George married Doris Peavy in 1946; they proudly celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2007.

Pilot, ocean sailor, hard worker, computer whiz, and father of three great children, he brightened our lives with his humor, shared adventures and help of all kinds.

George Jack Hubbard is survived by his wife, Doris; son Alan and wife, Eileen; daughter Janene Brenneman and husband, Jay; daughter Georgeann Berry and husband, John; 12 grandchildren and many wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Church, 19280 N. 99th Ave., Sun City, Ariz., on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Bible Study, God Will Provide Fund, 790 Stout Road Colorado Springs, CO 80921-3802.
