FERRIDAY, MS� Services for Mrs. Catherine Peavey Aswell, 70, of Ridgecrest, who died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Young�s Funeral Home in Ferriday, with Bro. Robert Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Young�s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 10 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Aswell was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Winnsboro. She was a resident of Ridgecrest and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by husband, J.B. Aswell; parents, Willie �Bill� Peavey and Marie Peavey; two brothers, Billy and Bub Peavey; grandson Eric Smith.

Survivors include son, Jamie Aswell of DeRidder, La.; two daughters, Wanda Smith and Cathy Aswell both of Ridgecrest; four sisters, Ruth Smith, Dale Graham and Yvonne Smith all of Ridgecrest and Anita Causey of Meadville; three brothers, Floyd Peavey of Ferriday, Johnny Peavey of Ridgecrest and Carlos Peavey of Natchez; two grandchildren, Brandy Hawley of Ferriday and Jayden Aswell of DeRidder, La.; two greatgrandchildren, Skylar Hawley and Makenzy Hawley.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Granham, Shaun Peavey, Lonnie Graham Jr., Butch Frith Jr., Floyd Peavey Jr. and Ronnie Ashley.

Bearnest "Buddy" Peavey, 70, of Florence passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, December 26, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 � 2:00pm.

Mr. Peavey was born November 19, 1941 in Leake County, MS to Mr. Irvin and Ollie Peavey. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Dianne Peavey and his brother Earnest Peavey.

Services for Conely Peavey, of Jayess, were 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31� 2005 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with burial in Divide Cemetery.

Mr. Peavey, 72, died Aug. 28, 2005, at Southwest Mississippi Medical Center in McComb. He was born on Sept. 16, 1932, to Walter Peavey and Luna Bell Lambert Peavey.

He retired as an E7 from the Navy. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters; one brother; three children; and one grandchild.

Survivors are his wife, Olene Peavey, of Jayess; his daughter, Brenda Adcock, of Jayess; his sons, Kevin Peavey, of Jayess, and Wayne Peavey, of Sontag; his sister, Wauline Langford, of Slidell, La.; his brother, Willie Earl Peavey, of Metairie, La.; and nine grandchildren.

PELAHATCHIE, MS

Jerry Aaron Peavey III, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at his residence after a long battle with leukemia. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 26 at the First Apostolic Church in Pelahatchie with the Rev. Fred Parker officiating.

Mr. Peavey was born June 6, 1937 in Sunflower County to Jerry A. Peavey II and Etta Mae Peavey. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann G. Little.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Peavey treasured time spent with his wife, family and his many friends. He will also be remembered for his love of all animals.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 23 years, Ruth Peavey of Pelahatchie; daughter, Tonya Weninger and husband Brent of Great Falls, Mont.; sisters, Kitty Padgett of Pelahatchie and Ruby Stewart and Peggy Lower, both of Hattiesburg; brother, Leon Peavey of Jackson; and granddaughters, Katelyn and Darian Weninger of Great Falls.

Mrs. Peavey, 92, died Aug. 24, 2005, at Beverly Health Care. She was born in Sicily Island, La., on Jan. 21, 1913, to Thomas Webb Tarver and Julie Etta Posey Tarver.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 61 years, Freemon E. Peavey; her brothers, Claude, Joel Lee and Herman Tarver; and her sisters, Amelia Tarver, Lela Jackson, La Nell Watson, Clara Belle McFarland and Dorothy Cupit.

Survivors are her daughter, Peggie Jean and her husband, L.B. Griffin, of DeRidder, La.; her sons, Daniel "Danny" Webb Peavey and his wife, Joy, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Billy Peavey and his wife, Virginia, and James David Peavey and his wife Judy, all of Brookhaven; her sister, Beatrice Stutson, of Sicily Island; two sisters-in-law, La Nelle Webley, of Shingle Springs, Calif., and Bernice Smith, of Brookhaven; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sarah D. Peavey, mother of Peavey Electronics founder Hartley D. Peavey, died on January 23, 1999 in Meridian, Lauderdale MS after a brief struggle with cancer. She was 83 years old having been born in Alabama on Aug 12, 1915

Mrs. Peavey and her husband of 60 years, Jos. B. "Mutt" Peavey, owned and operated the Peavey Melody Music retail store in Meridian, Mississippi. In 1963 the couple sold the business to Mississippi Music. Survivors include her husband, sons Hartley and Robert, and four grandchildren.

Shirley Ashley Peavey, 68, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, March 5, 2012 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Monday.

Mrs. Peavey was born on August 26, 1943, the daughter of Floyd and Onita Ashley. A caretaker, she cherished spending time and caring for her family. She remembered most for her loyalty, dedication and love to her family.

Mrs. Peavey is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bearnest (Buddy) Peavey and daughter, Theresa Dianne Peavey.

Mr. Peavy served in the U.S. Army in Korea, was a lineman with IBEW, a member of Baxterville Baptist Church and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tobias and Alpha Peavy.

Survivors include his wife, Lavera Peavy of Lumberton; one son, Chuck Peavy of Lumberton; one daughter, Lynne Peavy of Lumberton; one brother, Leroy Peavy of Lake Charles, La.; two grandchildren and numerous adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Louise Bosarge Peavy Manley -- Born January 1, 1926, in Gulfport, MS and a resident of Mobile for the past 61 years, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, in a local hospital

. Louise was a life-long federal civil service employee, having worked at Gulfport Navy Sea-Bee Center, Keesler Air Force Base, Brookley Air Force Base, and finally, seventeen years commuting to Keesler again. After retirement, she worked as secretary to the principal at C.F. Vigor High School before marrying Cecil Manley in 1991. She was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, having served several years as secretary. Louise was also a past member of the school board for Mobile Junior Academy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Manley; her mother, Annie Mae Cummins Bosarge; her father, Charles E. Bosarge; four brothers, Willie E. Bosarge, Bernard (Ethel) Bosarge, Arra (Audrey) Bosarge, and Theo (Doris) Bosarge; three sisters, Modeste E. Bosarge, Essie O. Bosarge and Myrtle (Frank) Sasso.

Survivors include her son, Michael L. Peavy of Destin, FL; her daughter, Renee A. DuVal of Mobile; grandson, D. Mark (Lauren) Couillard, II of Hong Kong, China; granddauther, Shannon (Jason) Coble of Mobile; great-grandchildren, Lorelei Kindel, Logan Coble, Leilani Coble, and Troy Brock, Jr., all of Mobile; nieces, including Carol (Robert) Clark of Waynesboro, MS; nephews; great-nieces, including Cara (Kenny) McLarty and Cheryl Dempsey of Fairhope, AL; cousins, Naomi, Doris and Mildred Dedeaux; other relatives, neighbors and friends.

Services for Carlton E. Pevey, 92, of Jackson, who died of heart failure Sunday, March 19, 2006, at the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jackson, was held at 11 a.m. today at Mark Seepe Funeral Directors and Crematorium of Jackson.

Mr. Pevey was a railroad conductor. He attended Holmes Community college in Goodman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He worshipped at Wells Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Pevey.

Mr. Pevey is survived by his wife, Rosella Kolodev Pevey of Jackson; and two daughters, Pamela Grantham of Winona and Peggy Moreno of Rockwall, Texas.

Charlotte Ann Deer Pevey, 63 of McComb, died, Nov. 27, 2010, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Visitation is 5 to 9 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb and continues there 11 a.m. Monday until services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Larry Romack will officiate. Burial will be in Pike Memorial Gardens in McComb.

Mrs. Pevey was born Jan. 12, 1947, to Shelton and Dorothy McKlemurry Norwood Stafford.

She retired from nursing at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center after more than 30 years. She loved cooking, working in her yard and getting up early every morning to cook bacon and toast for her dogs.

Mrs. Pevey was a longtime member of Navilla Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Veta Norwood.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Pevey of McComb; one son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Michel Deer of Biloxi; two daughters, Becky Deer O�Quin of McComb and Mechelle Burnette of Jayess; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jerry Bates of McComb; grandchildren, Jason Deer, Jessica Holder and husband Rodney, Corey Cutrer, Garret Cutrer and Baron O�Quin, all of McComb, Brently Pevey and wife Ashley, and Kayla Burnette, all of Jayess; great- grandchildren, Braxton Levi Cutrer, Isiaih Lee Deer, Taylor, Alexius Haiden and Brennan Delaney Holder.

Chris was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, cook, tend to her flowers, spend time with her family and going to church. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Edward James Pevey, 77, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Jackson.

A retired veteran, he was born on March 2, 1931. Breeland Crematorium is handling arrangements.

Mr. Pevey was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Pevey; daughters, Patricia Edwina Pevey Moon and Sherri Gale Pevey; two great-granddaughters; and parents, James Edward Pevey and Bernice Ferguson Pevey.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at Barham Funeral Home for Joseph Franklin "Frank" Pevey, 73, of the Damascus community in Kemper County MS who died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 at his residence.

The Rev. Harold Pounders and the Rev. Jason Davis officiated at the service. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Barham Funeral Home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served as a military policeman in the Korean War and a bluegrass musician who played mandolin, fiddle and guitar.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Pevey of the Damascus community; one daughter, Betty Jo Bishop of Collinsville; two sons, Joseph Pevey Jr. of Biloxi and Britt Allen Pevey of Dekalb; one sister, Rosie Lee of Picayune; three half-brothers, Billy Briggs, Norman Briggs and Don Briggs; five half-sisters, Florence Barnett, Leila Barnett, Arbudella Stockstill, Yolanda King and Doris McBeth; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a native of Meridian and had lived in Canton for the past 50 years. She was a member of Center Terrace Baptist Church.

She was the widow of the late Marshall.Edgar Pevey of Canton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning Feb 26, 1981 at 10 from Center Terrace Baptist Church, with Rev. Zack Winningham officiating. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery near Meadville, Franklin MS with Breeland Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Pevey is survived by four sons, Carlton Edgar Pevey of Jackson; Edgar Ray Pevey of Huntsville, Alabama; Berry William Pevey, Champagne, Illinois; and Robert T. Pevey of Hobbs, New Mexico; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Frasier and Mrs. Mae Luke both of Canton; one sister, Mrs. Andy Childress of Gauthier. Seventeen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive.

Reba pevey, 81, died Aug. 11, 2007, at Rankin Medical Center under care of Hospice Ministries. Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stringer Family Chapel in Crystal Springs with burial in the Old Crystal Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Pevey was born Oct. 26, 1925, to loving parents L.L. (Luke) and Beulah Lofton in the Arlington Community in Southwest Lincoln County.

Reba loved working (and playing) with children and the youth in church, school and community activities. Reba was the fifth child in the L.L. Lofton family. She had five brothers and three sisters. Of these, she is survived by her two younger sisters, Joyce Smith of Brookhaven, and Dot Smith of Bogue Chitto.

She is also survived by her husband of 57 years, Will (Billy) Pevey of Crystal Springs; daughter, Linda Scafidel and husband Rusty of Jackson; son, Bruce Pevey and wife Helen of McComb; grandchildren, David Pevey and wife Marge of Crystal Springs, Laiha Pevey of McComb, Christy Scafidel Emerson and husband Nathaniel of Florence and Bonnie Scafidel of Jackson; great-grandchildren, Launa Emerson of Florence, and Samuel Pevey of Crystal Springs.

Mrs. Yvonne (Pevey) Stockman Fuller, age 67 of Hurley, Ms. passed away Saturday November 8, 2008 in Hurley. Mrs. Fuller was born January 29, 1941 in Tylertown, MS.

She was a retired Manager from Mississippi Regional Housing Authority #8, and was a member of Canaan Assembly of God Church, V.F.W. post 3373 Ladies Auxilliary and the Elks Lodge # 1120 in Pascagoula.

She was preceded in death by her husband Troy Fuller, father James M. Pevey, brother James P. Pevey, and daughter Shelia Ann Stockman George. Mrs. Fuller is survived by her children, Vance M. (Pat) Stockman and Cherie (Bain) Goodman. Her mother Lahoma Pevey, brother Joe (B.J.) Pevey and sisters Mignon (Ronnie) Stogner and Sally (Ronnie) Fuller.; grandchildren, Vance M. Stockman Jr., Jacob D. (Tiffany) Stockman, Andrea D. Stockman, Gabby Herrington, Will Herrington, Cameron George, Andalyn George, Les George, Michael (Ellen) George, Devin Elise Goodman, Torri Bowlin; great grandchildren, Blake, Collin, Evan Stockman and Aiden George.

Visitation for Mrs. Fuller will be Wednesday November 12, 2008 from 11:00 a.m.until 1:00 p.m. at Holder- Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rodney Coleman and Rev. Gene Emswiler. Pallbearers will be Charlie Roebuck, Michael George, Bruce Lynd Jr., Jake Stockman, Will Herrington and Cameron George. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Helton, John Lynd and Vance Stockman Jr. Interment in Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Holder-Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. W.M. Pevey Paxton, 87, died February 22, 2007 in Ocean Springs, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Paxton, her daughter, Ginger Medford, and her son, Sonny Pevey.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

FERRIDAY, MS � Services for Blanche Odelia Jones, 93, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.

Burial follows at Natchez City Cemetery under direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones was born Aug. 2, 1914, the daughter of Ance Lofton and Florence Peavey Lofton. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Concordia Parish. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles M. Jones; daughter, JoAnn Harris; and son, Larry Reagan.

Survivors include a son, John Paul Jones and wife, Joyce, both of Ferriday; daughters, June Harper and husband, Joe, both of Vidalia and Jean Ellis and husband, Herbert, both of Sicily Island; grandchildren she raised, Brenda , Billy, Juanita, Charles and Timmy; great-grandchild, Connie; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Harper, Lil John Maple, J.C. Calvitt, Mark Craft, Craig Pardue, Howard Smith, Jameson Price and Chris Ganey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lil Johnny P. Jones, Joe Turner, Timmy Harris, Billy Harris, Clyde Boling and Charles Harris.
