Nancy Pennington (AARON2, EPHRIAM1) was born 1815 in Ashe Co., North Carolina. She married Samual Lewis September 26, 1833 in Perry (now Leslie) Co., Kentucky. He was born 1810 in Kentucky.

Samuel Lewis is listed in the 1840 Perry Co., Kentucky Census (next to father-in-law Aaron Pennington} pg.251,line 16. 1 male 30-39, 2 females 0-4, 1 female 5-9 and 1 female 20-29.

Nancy 45 and Samuel 47 are listed in the 1860 Perry Co., Kentucky Census, Dist 1, pg. 6, #37 with Nathaniel 19, Judy 16, Polly 15, Aaron 11, Martha 9, and William 4.

The 1880 Leslie Co. Census, page 524a #40 lists a family believed to be Samuel 71 and Nancy 65 with Daniel 30, Martha 27 and William 24. Also listed is Nancy Joseph 7 as a boarder, but could possibly be a grandchild.

Martha Lewis, b. 1853.

William "Bill" Lewis, b. 1855. Bill went to Big Stone Gap, Virginia. One source says that he was hung for murder. Another source says he went to live with his brother Aaron in another country.
