We now have an original Family Bible record which gives the wife's name of Jane Schooley and her b-date. Jane is one of triplets; thus the same b-date for 2 of her siblings. The original b-date was thought to be abt 1786.
Same source as siblings. B-date originally estimated wrong at abt 1809. See notes for Benjamin.

THE BIRTHDATE OF JOHN LEARN IS
CALCULATED TO BE ABOUT 1710 BECAUSE HE CAME
TO PHILADELPHIA ON THE SHIP HARLE ON 1 SEP 1736 FROM ROTTERDAM BUT LAST
FROM COWES.ACTUALLY ,HE SUSCRIBED TO THE OATH OF GOVERNMENT AT THE
COURTHOUSE IN PHILADELPHIA ON 1 SEP 1736--SO HE MUST HAVE ARRIVED SHORTLY
BEFORE THAT. ON THE SHIP HE IS LISTED AS JOHAN GEORG LOHNERT WITH AN
UMLAUT OVER THE O IN LOHNERT. THE SHIPS STARTED DOWN THE RHINE AT
HEILBRONN. THE PASSENGERS (SOME) CAME FROM MAYENCE(MAINZ) AND BELONGED
TO THE PARISH AT ESSENHEIM. THEY CAME FROM THE PALATINATE UPON THE
RHINE AND PLACES ADJACENT. MAINZ IS THE CAPITAL OF RHINELAND
PALATINATE. BY 1751 HIS OLDEST SON GEORGE WAS BORN AT TANNERSVILLE,
NORTHAMPTON CO.,PA. JOHAN AND HIS SON GEORGE WERE MASSACRED BY THE
INDIANS AT TANNERSVILLE ON 3 JULY 1781. THERE IS A LOT MORE TO THIS
STORY. Above reference to Cowes is on the Isle of Wight off the coast
of England.
All: The German spelling for John Learn is Johan Georg
Lohnert/Loehnert/Lehnert. Arriving 1 Sep 1736 at Philadelphia on the Ship
Harle. The Ship starts at Heilbron on the Rhine. Some passengers came from
Mainz and belonged to the parish at Essenheim. The passengers came from the
Palatinate and adjascent places. In Tannersville, Pa., the tavern that John
Learn operated still stands today. Only the basement is original. In the 1930's
a stable was built over it. Today it is a restaurant called the CORAL REEF. General
Sullivan and his troops stayed there by orders of George Washington in 1777.
Across the road is marker about General Sullivan. At the restaurant is a LEARN
MONUMENT. His son Jacob Learn is buried across the street United Grace Christ
Church at Union Cem. The Learn Family was Lutheran. Did he have 2 brothers?
Cadarina is probably catarina or
katarina but was being pronounced cadarina
by a german accented person.
Her husband and some of her children were massacred by the indians on
3 july 1781 at their homestead at Tannersville. There is a will for
John Learn dated 1777. I suppose she lived a few years after the
massacre. Their son Peter Learn and 3 sisters migrated to Ontario,Canada
sometime in the 1780's,so I suppose that was after Cadarina died. Records show
that Cadarina survived the Indian massacre.
Family bible of 1st child Jane Schooleys' husbands' father(Hus is Peter Learn-his father is John Learn) lists all of the 1st three children as being born on the same day--5 Jul 1772. Asa Schooley patented lands (He was a Quaker) in Bertie Twp., Welland co., Ontario in 1798. Other Quakers listed in Bertie Twp., in 1797 are John Cutter, John Harritt, Daniel Pound, and Joseph Marsh. The petition for land was read on 14 July, 1797. It is in Upper Canada Land Book B, 1796-1797. Item 113 states: Asa Schooley. He has received 200 acres of land, that he has a wife and six children, and praying for family lands Recommended 350 acres family lands if not before granted.
BIRTH: all siblings of Jane Schooley are born 5 Jul 1772 according to fam bible of John Learn- father in-law to her.
James was a Methodist Lay Minister.
Melissa Catherine Ott helped raise her grandson Lloyd Clifford Stoltz.

Source same as hus. Fam bible says she died age 51.
. I later obtained fam bible rec showing Peter Learn and Jane Schooley as the correct parents . All 11 children should be Peter and Jane’s. There are now 5 additional children--all daughters. Benjamin married 3rd wife when he was 80 yrs. old.
