Family bible of 1st child Jane Schooleys' husbands' father(Hus is Peter Learn-his father is John Learn) lists all of the 1st three children as being born on the same day--5 Jul 1772. Asa Schooley patented lands (He was a Quaker) in Bertie Twp., Welland co., Ontario in 1798. Other Quakers listed in Bertie Twp., in 1797 are John Cutter, John Harritt, Daniel Pound, and Joseph Marsh. The petition for land was read on 14 July, 1797. It is in Upper Canada Land Book B, 1796-1797. Item 113 states: Asa Schooley. He has received 200 acres of land, that he has a wife and six children, and praying for family lands Recommended 350 acres family lands if not before granted.
