He was a Methodist Episcopal Minister. Buried in Lanning Spur Cem., Carr Twp. He had been living with his 2nd wife 6 years at the time of his death.


Samuel MURPHY

Believed born 1779. He and wife Mary Polly left Virginia after 1810, passed through Kentucky about 1814 and arrived in Indiana by 1820. Bro. William's bible says Samuel died 8 Aug 1821. IGI also says Death in 1822.


Mary Polly LEFTWICH

Murphy Family came to Salem, Washington Co., Indiana in 1819 and soon thereafter came to Brownstown where Samuel Murphy died. Mary Polly was buried at the Riverview Cem.
