All: At the time of her death, Caroline had 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and three step-daughters. Her husband died before she did. She was a member of the Swedish M.E. church. She was 84 years of age. She died at her home at 309 Northwest 2nd Avenue, following a condition of failing health for the past several years. She had been bedfast for ten days preceding her passing. Following her husbands death she came to Galva--lived there 25 yrs.--member of Swedish M.E. church

All: Frederick Carl Weltzin migrated from Christiania, Norway. He was a rich man's son. He became a farmer and came on covered wagon to Dane co., Wisconsin. It is believed that the sailing date of the 3 brothers was 25 April 1854. The son Joachim had personal knowledge of the death of his father Carl Frederick.

All: Charlotte was a daughter of a Danish sea captain and naval commissioner. Recs also say she died in Perry. I assume that is in the new world.


Bertha JENSEN

Marie Carolyn Linderholm says," Bertha Jensen was widowed after her husband drowned in a fishing accident and took her children on a ship ( not 1854 excursion by Carl Frederick), 3 boys and 2 girls--2 months crossing- bad conditions. All very sick. 2 months later landed in Canada. They got very hungary while waiting for U.S. quota to open up and they found their way to South Dakota, where she homesteaded."
