Let us now praise famous men, and our fathers that begat us.
And we are his Sisters and his Cousins and his Aunts,
His Sisters and his Cousins,
Which he reckons up by dozens
And his Aunts.
There are only two lasting bequests we can give our children - one is roots, the other wings.
He alone deserves to be remembered by his children who treasures up and preserves the memory of his fathers.
Gentility is what is left over from rich ancestors after the money is gone.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
I can trace my ancestry back to a protoplasmal primordial atomic globule. Consequently, my family pride is something inconceivable.
Remember me in the family tree
My name, my days, my strife
Then I'll ride upon the wings of time
and live an endless life.
If your parents never had children, chances are you won't, either.
It is a wise father that knows his own child.
I tend to live in the past because most of my life is there.
Other things may change us, but we start and end with family.
Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family: Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.
Though the past haunt me as a spirit, I do not ask to forget.
To be rooted is perhaps the most important and least recognized need of the human soul.
If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance.
