3. Bernard
Daughters: Anna and Magdalena
According to HBF45, Samuel had two sons (as
also noted in your charts 3 and 3A), Bernard and Herman. Now, the book clearly
showed that Bernard
got permission to stay in April 30, 1799 (as “fleischer gewerbe”)
while Herrman got
his familiant status and permission to marry in May 31, 1796. The writings are
quite mixed up in
the book that obviously produced also some problems on your charts, esp. My
question is why you
put two Hermans in 3 and in 3A. Herman with sons Jakob (1803), Philip (1805),
Samuel (1812),
Joseph (1818) and Salomon (1820). According to HBF45 Herman's wife and those
five sons mother was
Anna Bondy, not Marie nee Lustig. My suggestion is you detele your chart
supplement 3A. Herman did
not die in 1809, but his father Samuel died at that time.

From George Akin ([email protected]) (2002):A short biography of Joseph Jerusalem
is found in "History of Chicago", Andreas, A.T., 1884. From this biography,
Joseph Jerusalem was a son of Nicholas Jerusalem and Elizabeth (Wrode)
Jerusalem of Prussia, Germany. He emigrated to America about 1865. He married
Ulrike (not fredericke) Giese in 1871. Ulrike was a daughter of Peter Giese
and Wilhelmine (Bohn or Bohm) Giese. She was born in Wirsitz, Provence of
Posen, Prussia on Dec 24, 1854 (from notes kept by her sister, who kept
birthdates of all her siblings, and her mother and father). Joseph Jerusalem
started a brewery in Chicago in 1870 which burned down in the Great Chicago
Fire. From "History of Chicago", Joseph Jerusalem and Ulrike had six children,
Lena, Minna (or Minnie??), Clara, Henrietta, Joseph (or Robert??) and Alma.
Joseph Jerusalem was born June 19, 1836 and died about 1887. Ulrike then
married Gustav Eberlein. He died about 1903. Ulrike died May 22, 1918 in
Chicago. Ulrike and her two husbands were associated with a brewery in Chicago
from 1870 until 1908. It existed at 3 different locations. One year after she
sold the brewery in 1908, it was closed. From photo's kept by my grandmother,
I have photos of Ulrike Giese (and her parents and sisters), Joseph Jerusalem,
Gustav Eberlein, and the Jerusalem children.
