Wikipedia:
John Harvey (27 September 1911 - July 19, 1982) was an English actor.

Born in London, he played Private Earhart in the play Kiss and Tell (1943) on
the Broadway stage. With his success in the role, he was soon signed to a
motion picture contract by 20th Century Fox.

His debut was in the role as Tommy Dooley in Fox's musical/romance Pin-Up Girl
(1944), in which he wooed and won co-star Betty Grable. He then played Ted
Warren in Four Jills in a Jeep, released that same year. Harvey also appeared
in Dr. Finlay's Casebook on the BBC and in Chance of a Lifetime (1950).

Besides movie work, Harvey began making guest appearances on television in the
late 1940s.

"The death of Mr Alexander Borthwick of Beaumont, which occurred in the Tuapeka
Hospital on Friday, 25th Sept, after a brief illness, removes a very old and
highly respected resident of the Beaumont District. The deceased who had
reached his eighty fifth year and enjoyed the full use of all his faculties up
to the last, was a native of Yorkshire and came to New Zealand with his wife
and family (a daughter was born at sea) 58 years ago. They came immediately to
the Beaumont where the family home remained up to the death of Mrs Borthwick,
which occurred about 14 years ago, since when the subject of our notice had
lived with his daughter Mrs Herbert of Heriot. Before coming to New Zealand
the deceased had spent some time in India, where he was engaged in Railway
construction work. After settling at Beaumont the deceased found employment at
Waipori, bullock puncing, the placid bullock in those days being the principle
tractor force used in the transaction of goods from the towns to the mining
centres. After that he accepted casual employment in and around Beaumont, and
by this means brought up a family of five sons and three daughters. "Aleck"
was an ardent 'sport' and was the last survivor of the original members of the
Beaumont Jockey Club, of which some years ago he was made a life member. At
all the race meetings he was a familiar figure, and his happy cheery greeting
will in the future be missed by patrons of this meeting. That he was a man of
some grit was evident by the fact a week before his death he walked from Heriot
to Beaumont in coming to the Tuapeka Hospital. He is survived by a family of
five sons (Joseph, England; Alexander, Millers Flat; John, Kaikoura; Thomas,
North Island; Walter, Clarks Flat) and two daughters (Mrs Henderson, Russell
Street, Dunedin; and Mrs Alex Herbert, Heriot) The remains were interred in
the Beaumont Cemetery on Sunday 27th Sept by the side of his wife, a large
number of residents attending the funeral to pay their last respects. The
service at the grave was impressive conducted by the Rev James Moreland, of
Lawrence."
