Vierraden, Schwedt and Tuetz Jewish Communities

JEWISH COMMUNITIES OF SCHWEDT/Oder and VIERRADEN (Brandenburg) and TÜTZ (West Prussia)

Common Surnames: LOEWENHEIM, WANGENHEIM, SEELIG, MEINHARDT, LOEWENBERG, EPPENSTEIN

I am primarily researching the LOEWENHEIM and WANGENHEIM families that originated in Tütz (now Tuczno) and migrated to the neighbouring communities of Schwedt/Oder and Vierraden. However, I am also collecting data on all families from these three towns to reconstruct the various intermarriages.

The recently published book "Juden in Schwedt : ihr Leben in der Stadt von 1672 bis 1942 und ihr Friedhof" by Brigitte Heidenhain provides not only a very detailed history of the Jewish Community fully referenced to original sources, but also gives a lot of personal information on individuals and families, including extensive family trees.

This Schwedt Jewish Family Tree Database contains information on many of the families, though information on Loewenheim, Wangenheim & Meinhardt are obtained from here.

I hope to include on this site extracts from records relating to the Jewish Communities of these places.
