Our Family: All we know about our ancestor Peter Gerber is that he married Eva Lenz on 2 February 1783 at Rhein-D�rkheim, Rheinhessen, Hessen. Jakob Gerber, son of Peter and Eva, lived at Rudelsheim (later Ludwigsh�he), Rheinhessen. He married three times and fathered at least ten children. His first marriage was to Maria Agnes, n�e Weber (1787-1826), widow of Jakob Zimmermann (1776-1812); Agnes had two daughters by her first marriage, and she bore Jakob five children. Jakob's second wife was Maria Magdalena Koradill (1799-1828), daughter of Johann Georg Koradill. Magdalena died less than nine months after the wedding. Jakob's third wife, who survived him, was Anna Maria Nuss (ca. 1800 - post 1880), daughter of Philipp Nuss. Anna bore Jakob at least five or six children, at least three of whom emigrated to America. Anna emigrated in 1858, and probably settled first in New York City before moving to Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. My third-great-grandmother, Anna Maria Gerber (1813-1861) was the first child of Jakob Gerber's first marriage. She married Philipp Jakob Kleist in 1842, and bore three children: Adam (1843-1917), Katherine (1846-1925), and Jakob (b. 1849). Adam and Katherine both emigrated to America. Adam lived at Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and Katherine at McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Their brother Jakob remained in Germany. Jakob Gerber's sons who emigrated to America were: Wilhelm (1829-1913), who married Wilelmine Freitag and fathered nine children. They lived in Town Rhine, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. John (1834-1910), who married Johanna Maria "Mary" Heimann in New York, and moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. They were also the parents of nine children. Adam (1836 - post 1930), who married Anna Maria Wirth and fathered four children. Adam lived in Town Herman, Sheboygan County, until after his wife died in 1905. He later lived with his son Herman in Manitowoc and Taylor Counties. More:
