Generation One

Daniel R�der was born about 1796 in Germany. He married, about 1819, Maria Elisabetha M�ller (known as Elisabeth or Elizabeth), daughter of Johann Philipp M�ller and Eva Klaussin.

Maria Elisabetha M�ller was born 3 May 1797 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen, and was baptized there the same day. Her godmother was her maternal grandmother, Maria Elisabetha Klaussin. She died 30 June 1885 at Town Rhine, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.

(1)i. Johannes R�der was born 6 February 1821 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen, and was baptized there 8 February 1821. He married Barbara Herrmann 7 April 1850 at Biebelnheim. He died 29 October 1866 in Wisconsin.
ii. Elisabetha R�der was born 16 October 1822 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen, and was baptized there 20 October 1822.
(2)iii. Philipp R�der was born 12 October 1824 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen, and was baptized there 13 October 1824. His godfather was his maternal grandfather, Philipp M�ller. Philipp R�der married Anna Catharina Muth 4 March 1854 at Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He died 16 January 1905 at Town Russell, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.

(3)iv. Jacob R�der was born 17 October 1826 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen, and was baptized there 19 October 1826. He married Margaret Sophia Ladenberger 26 May 1856 at Town Rhine, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Jacob died 7 August 1915 at Town Rhine, and was buried at Kiel Cemetery, Kiel, Wisconsin.
v. Andreas R�der was born 30 December 1828 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen, and was baptized there 4 January 1829.
(4)vi. Valentine R�der was born 10 September 1831 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen. He married Anna Maria Grauer 10 November 1855 at Town Rhine, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Valentine died 28 October 1914 at Newton, Jasper County, Iowa.

(6)viii. Catharina R�der was born 8 March 1835 at Biebelnheim, Rheinhessen, and was baptized there 11 March 1835. She married Herman Schwallenberg.

Anna Maria Grauer was born 6 February 1832 at Jettenburg, T�bingen, W�rttemberg, daughter of Johann Georg Grauer (1789-1860) and Anna Margarethe Maier (1793-1875). v. Elisabethe Katherine Rader was born 19 February 1860 at Town Rhine, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. She was an epileptic from the age of eight, and was admitted to "Emmaus" in St. Charles, Missouri on Jan 26, 1909 at age 48. iii. Alfred A. Raeder was born 7 May 1893 in Wisconsin. He married Amanda Williams, daughter of John Williams and Dorothea Dressen. Amanda was born 25 November 1892 at Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. She died of pancreatic cancer 5 June 1959 at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Alfred died of acute coronary occlusion 15 May 1960 at Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. They were both buried at St. John's Cemetery, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

ii. Dorothy Rader married Elmer Klauenberg. Elmer was born 11 November 1896 and died in February 1974. Dorothy died in March 1994 and was buried at the Baxter Cemetery, Baxter, Iowa.

Mrs. Raeder of Elkhart Lake Dies Tuesday Afternoon

Elkhart Lake - Mrs. V. E. Raeder, 29, died at the Plymouth hospital Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 after an illness of a few days. Mrs. Raeder was born on December 18, 1898 in the town of Plymouth, and on September 14, 1922 she was married to V. E. Raeder. Her maiden name was Miss Ilma Freimund.
The deceased was a member of the Eastern Star lodge at Plymouth and she was well liked by her many friends. She is survived by her husband and her father, Christian Freimund of Plymouth. Her mother preceded her in death nine years ago.
Other survivors are four brothers, William Freimund of Sheboygan, Otto of Thorpe, Christian and Arno of Milwaukee, and five sisters, Mrs. Ella Langmak of Plymouth, Mrs. William Larson of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Louis Kuhn, Town Russell, Mrs. Clara Reinboldt of Sheboygan, and Mrs. George Herhard of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon from the home of her brother-in-law, Alfred Raeder, and at 2 o'clock from St. John's Evangelical church. The Rev. C. Nagel will officiate, and burial will be made in the Elkhart lake cemetery.

Former Plymouth Girl Passes Away

Mrs. Valentine Raeder died at the city hospital at 5:30 Tuesday afternoon after a short illness. Mrs. Raeder was born December 18, 1898, in the town of Plymouth, and spent most of her life in Plymouth until her marriage which took place, September 14, 1922. She was Miss Ilma Fremund.
She is survived by her husbad, their home being at Elkhart Lake, her father Christian Frewmund of Plymouth; four brothers, William of Sheboygan, Otto of Thorpe, Christian and Arno of Milwaukee and five sisters, Mrs. Ella Langmak of Plymouth; Mrs. William Larson of Fond du Lac; Mrs. I. Kuhn, Town Russell, Mrs. Clara Reinholdt of Sheboygan, and Mrs. George Gerhard of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon from the home of her brother-in-law, Alfred Raeder, and at 2 o'clock from St. John's Evangelical church. The burial will be made in the Elkhart Lake Cemetery.

Twenty-five members of the Plymouth order of the Eastern Star were at Elkhart Lake, Friday at the funeral of Mrs. Valentine Raeder, who was a member of the lodge.
The services were held in St. John's Evangelical church, Rev. Nagle officiating, while the O. E. S. had the services at the Elkhart Lake cemetery. Mrs. Al Meyer, who took the place of Mrs. Mary Sanders as worthy matron and W. II Eldridge as worthy patron, conducted the services.
The church was filled with friends and there were many beautiful flowers.

Mae M. Kaestner was born 23 May 1894 at Plymouth, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, daughter of Albert H. Kaestner and Laura Pfeil. She died 20 January 1981 at Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City, Arizona, and was buried at St. John's Cemetery, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Mae M. Raeder, 86, a Plymouth businesswoman for 59 years, died Tuesday at Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City, Ariz., where she had been a patient for the past nine days.
The former Mae M. Kaestner was born in the Town of Plymouth May 23, 1894, a daughter of Albert H. and Laura Pfeil Kaestner.
She married V. L. Raeder.
Mrs. Raeder owned and operated M. M. Kaestner Smartwear Shop in Plymouth for almost 60 years, retiring in the summer of 1980 prior to moving to Sun City, Ariz.
She was a member of the Plymouth Association of Commerce for many years. Survivors are her husband, and a brother, Elmer Kaestner, of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wittkopp Funeral Service, Plymouth. The Rev. Edmond Hennig, assistanrt pastor of Salem United Church of Christ, Plymouth, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Elkhart Lake.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Saturday until the time of services Sunday.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Raeder's name for the American Heart Association.

Mr. Raeder served in the U. S. Army during both World War I and World War II.

On May 11, 1945, he married Mae M. Kaestner. She died Jan. 20, 1981.
He was a member of Cassia Lodge No. 167, F. & A. M., Plymouth. Survivors include nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

(23) Martha Sophia Toedt was born 11 March 1894 at Laurel, Marshall County, Iowa, daughter of Henry Herman Toedt and Maria Anna Rader.

She married Claude Mann 23 September 1916 at Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa.

Claude Mann was born 4 September 1893 at Laurel, Marshall County, Iowa, son of Robert Mann and Hannah Keese. He died 12 May 1975 at Baxter, Jasper County, Iowa.

Martha Sophia Toedt and Claude Mann had the following children:

(30)i. Gilbert Dale Mann married Pauline Aurora Johnson.
(31)ii. Anita Joan Mann married the Rev. Richard Decker.

Martha Sophia Mann (born Toedt) died 6 March 1980 at Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa.


(24) Esther Lydia Rader was born 3 August 1893 in Jasper County, Iowa, daughter of William Rader and Wilhelmina Dorothea Toedt.

She married Lawrence Bertrum Sill 20 April 1923 at Honolulu, Hawaii.

Lawrence Bertrum Sill was born 15 February 1898 at Leavenworth, Kansas, son of Alfred Sill and Emma Diehl. He died 12 December 1981 at Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California.

Esther Lydia Rader and Lawrence Bertrum Sill had the following child:

i. Norma Elaine Sill was born 5 March 1932 at Upland, San Bernardino County, California. She died 11 September 1938 at Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California.

Esther Lydia Sill (born Rader) died 23 March 1995 at Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California.

(28) Marie Magdalene Klopsteg was the daughter of Paul Ernst Klopsteg and Amanda Maria Lydia Toedt.

She married Joseph Markley Graffis, son of Joseph Markley Graffis and Blanche Collender.

They had the following children:
