"Mrs. Nettles had been in the hospital at Galveston for several months, where she died. "She was an active officer of the T.E.L. Class of the Port Arthur Church. She was also an acrive worker in the Pythian Sisters Lodge. "Burial was in the Nettles cemetery, May 2nd with Rev. W. B. Wadsworth, conducting the services. Arrangements were directed by Weldon Davis Funeral Home and Wright Chenault. "Pallbearers were Mrs. Nettles grandsons: Donald Walker, Walter Nettles Jr., Bill Collum, Ples Collum Jr., Hollis Collum, and Norman Noack. "Nine children survive; Mrs. Ples Collum, Salem, Ill.; Mrs. S. B. Walker, Livingston; Mrs. A. J. Brousard of Port Arthur; Mrs. F. L. Brown, also of Port Arthur; Mrs. E. J. Noack, Austin; Mrs. K.L. Rambo of Sewell, N.J.; Mr. H.A. Cox Jr., Philadelphia, Penn.; Mr. W.E. Nettles and Mr. G.W. Nettles of Port Arthur. Seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. A.W. Barrington and Mrs. Jim Glass of Conroe; Mrs. T.L. Barbarich of Sugar Land, and Mrs. Arthur Brame of Baytown." |
