Remarkable Case of Longevity in Texas County "Livingston, Texas, Dec 12, - Rev. S. B. B. Dunnam was buried here yesterday. "He would have been 99 years old on January 30 next. "He was born in South Carolina in 1805. "He had lived in Mississippi and Louisiana and settled in Polk county in 1850. "He joined the Methodist church at 20 years of age and was ordained a minister in 1854. "He was a Confederate veteran and served with General Lee in Virginia. He fought at the Wilderness, Sharpsburg, Spotsylvania, and in a number of other celebrated engagements. His war record is a valuable legacy to his children. "He left two sons on the battlefield and is survived by a son 80 years old. For some years he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. James E. Hill. The funeral was conducted by the Masons." |
