 Willie F. Phillips Buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Thurs.

     "Last rites for Willie Franklin Phillips, aged 37, were held from the Magnolia Hills Baptist Church April 16 with Rev. Johnnie Dowden officiating.  Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.  Mr. Phillips went fishing in the creek near his home at Segno Monday morning and his body was discovered by relatives who went to look for him Wednesday, inquest revealing that he met accidental death by drowning.  Most of his life had been spent in Polk County, having been born here August 16, 1915.
     "He is survived by two children, Walter Harvey and Winfred Gayle Phillips of Nederland; 3 brothers, Robert L. Phillips of Cleveland Wiley of the US Navy and Riley of Brawley, California; one sister, Mrs. Charles H. Burk of Houston.
      "Pallbears for the service were H. Jones, J. M. Cain Jr., W. T Crutchfield, Ben Gay, T. H. Bailey and A. B. Williams."
