Macon County, Tennessee Cemetery Book Volume I, by Macon County Historical Society has: Blankenship, Jefferson D. - 1861 - 1941.

Jeff D. Blankenship, a highly respected farmer of the Haysville section, died at his home at nine o'clock Monday morning. He had been in feeble health for years, and his death was attributed to tuberculosis. However, it is thought that a fall from a porch a few nights ago hastened the end. He was 79 years of age and is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Susan Hanes; four sons, Talmadge Blankenship of Nashville; Bassell, Verlin and Estel Blankenship, all of the Haysville community; four grandchildren, one brother, Wilson Blankenship of Mt. Union; and two sisters, Mrs. Benton Hanes of Westmoreland, and Mrs. Buck Rose of Alton Hill. The remains were laid to rest noon Tuesday in Haysville Cemetery, following funeral services conducted by the Rev. Ray Gilliam, of the Methodist church, with which the deceased had been identified for a number of years.
