SHOOTS SELF

Donald Dyer, aged nearly 22 years, shot himself about one o'clock Friday afternoon at his home about two miles south of Ebenezer. His wife heard a shot fired in a room of the home while she was busy in the kitchen and saw her husband slump to the floor. He had shot himself  behind the right ear with a .32 caliber pistol. He lived about twelve hours after the tragic happening. He had been in a highly nervous condition for several months and had made threat against his own life. Burial was made Saturday afternoon in the family graveyard on Dry Branch, with brief funeral services conducted by the undertaker, Homer Alexander. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Stella Barber of Lafayette: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Dyer, on whose farm the son made his home: three brothers and two sisters Briggie, Richard, Jerry and Joann Dyer, all residing with their parents: and two of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nash of Dixon's Creek.
