Good Woman Passes Away
Mrs. Jennie Moss Moore, 67, widow of the late O. D. Moore who was one time county court clerk of this county, died at her home at Bethpage Monday morning following an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Bethpage Methodist Church, of which she was a member, with the pastor, the Rev. Simon Ensor officiating. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. King Lassiter; two sons, Charles D. and Fred Moore; two sisters, Mrs. O. C. Whitesides and Mrs. J. L. Harris, Sr., two brothers, A. W. and U. D. Moss and four grand-children, Rufus, Mary Moore, David and James Edward Lassiter. Mrs. Moore's late husband preceded her in death December 12, 1937. She was in declining health at that time and it has been only at short intervals that she has seemed any better since that time. She was a fine Christian woman possessing all the virtues that make for loveliness and graciousness in a wife, a mother, neighbor and friend. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery in Portland with Wilkinson Bros. and Wiseman in charge.
