GALLATIN SOLDIER KILLED IN ITALY
Gallatin, Tenn. July 17
Pvt. Clarence Peak, 25, husband of Mrs. Lucille Sanders Peak of Gallatin, was killed in action in Italy May 23, according to word received from the war department by Mrs. Peak. Private Peak attended school at Carthage and before entering the service was a truck driver for the Lebanon Lumber Company at Lebanon. He was reported missing in action earlier, but the latest word from the war department confirms his death. In addition to his wife he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Maggie Sanders of Evansville, Ind.
