Contributing information by George and Peggy Ackerman

The Rev. T. P. Ackerman was born in Kentucky, June 13, 1818.  He made a profession of faith in Christ at a prayer-meeting when about eighteen years of age. Married Miss Garrett in Sumner county, Tenn., and placed himself under the care of the old Nashville Presbytery, in which his course as a probationer and his life as a preacher were spent. He did useful service in the cause of the Master, and departed in much peace December 19, 1887. It was his privilege to rejoice in the conversion of his fourth and last son during the week in which he died. He left a widow and eight children, who loved and honored him. There is hope of a re-union of an unbroken household in the better land.
