The death angle visited the home of the Misses Watkins near New Hope Church north of Shackle Island Saturday, Oct. 6th, and called from labor to rest Miss Alice Watkins, age 67 years. Deceased was a consistent member of New Hope Baptist Church for a number of years. Funeral services were conducted at the grave Sunday afternoon by Rev. Sylvanus Dorris. Interment in family burying ground. She leaves two sisters, Misses Carrie and Ida Watkins, of Shackle Island and one brother, Wm. Watkins of California. The family have the sympathy of their many friends here.
