Volunteers Story (there was a
picture included) Residents of the
southern section of Newark are donating time and labor helping in the
construction of the city's newest
park, unofficially named Ash Street Park and Playground.
Al Rowe, of 37061 Spruce St., Newark, one of the volunteers, is busy with
hammer and nails on the roof of one of the buildings. ______________________________________________________________________________ From a Silverton, OR
(or Molalla, OR) newspaper: Alvin Rowe, 35, a
cement contractor and former Siverton resident, had a third heart attack in
December. He was released from the
hospital Janury 11. Mr. Rowe and
his wife, Pat, and their two daughters, Peggy and Pam, live in Newark,
California. Mr. Rowe's sister and
her husband, Mr. and mrs. Derick Hillman, Molalla, took Mr. Rowe's mother, Mrs.
Richard Lantz, also of Molalla, to see him.
Mrs. lantz remained two weeks in California. Alvin entered Stanford
University Hospital on January 27 for open heart surgery on Jan. 29. Mr. Rowe has another
sister, Mrs. Clinton Adkins, and two brothers James and Marvin all of Molalla. ***Peggy makes these
corrections: Alvin Rowe was a cement
MASON. This article was written
after his second heart attack not his third.
And he was released from the hospital on January 15th, not the 11th as
described above. Other
brothers are Alfred (Bobo), and Richard. ********************End
