Puerto Rico: My Ancestors and Their Descendants

Have you ever wondered how our "abuelitos and bisabuelitos" cured themselves of their everyday ailments? What did they use for medicine in the 19th and 20th centuries? Did you know that the Tainos would tie a clove of garlic around their baby's ankles? Why?  Because they healed and lived off the land. Some of the old folk cures are still practiced today. Please "step" into the "Botica" it is open and see for yourself.

This beautiful "apothecary" graphic is from Victorian Lace and is being used with their permission.
Thank You Dawn!
