(ATCHLEY) SARRETT 6th Son of Isaac & 1st Emily (Smith) ATCHLEY Gs/o THOMAS & LYDIA (RICHARDS) ATCHLEY; GGs/o Joshua,1 & Mary (MARTIN) ATCHLEY GGGs/o James/John ATCHLEY, "The American Progenitor" b. about 1835, in Sevier Co., Tennessee; [REF:#21] d. about 1912, at 77 years of age, Green Co., Missouri? [REF:#1.6, pg102-3] Buried in the "Rose Hill" Baptist Church Cemetery, Green Co., MO. where a headstone marks his grave. [REF:1.6, pg103] At a22y he [REF:#36] married on 26-7 Sep. 1857, in Sevier Co., to Miss CATHERINE DUGGAN; She was the Daughter of DANIEL & MARY Polly (McMAHAN) DUGGAN; b. about 1836, (based on 1860 Census) in Sevier Co., Tn.; [REF:#22] d. about 1925, a89y in Green Co. MO. She is buried along side her husband in the "Rose Hill" Baptist Church Cemetery, Green Co., MO. [REF:1.6, pg103] They had at least Seven Children born to this Union, per Census:

   3 3rd. Dau: NANCY M.,        b. 1863 TN Listed in Census!

   5 2nd. Son: ENOCH,           b. 1869 TN Listed in Census!
   6 3rd. Son: MITCHELL,        b. 1878 TN Listed in Census!
   7 4th. Son: PERMA M.,        b. 1880 MO Listed in Census!

None of these children were traced in [REF:1.6, pg103]

Mrs. CATHERINE (DUGGAN) ATCHLEY (twin of brother GEORGE DUGGAN) 
was one of the younger sisters of Mrs. SUSANANAH (DUGGAN) ATCHLEY, 
who married JOHN O. ATCHLEY younger brother of ISAAC A. ATCHLEY, 
both families left Sevier Co., TN. and settled in Greene Co., Missouri. 

Mr. ISAAC A. ATCHLEY, was a Farmer" and a longtime member of the
Baptist Church.

In the 1840 6 Census, for Sevier County, Tn. we have identified 
ISAAC A. ATCHLEY age 5 living with his parents and brothers and 
sisters: (M-704, State Reel 535, Pg. 162, Lin 11)

In the 26 Sep. 1850, Census for Sevier Co., TN. 7. (M-432, State 
Reel 895, Pg. 857, F.G. 605) we find the young ISAAC A. ATCHLEY, 
age 15, living with his parents and brothers and sister. He was 
"Attending School" and doing his share of the Farm work. His elderly 
Grandmother Mrs. LYDIA (RICHARDS) ATCHLEY was 88 years old living 
with the family. (See Father's FGS)

ISAAC A. ATCHLEY age 23 married on 26-7 Sep. 1857, in Sevier Co., TN to 
the 22 years old Miss CATHERINE DUGGAN and they are found in the 
1860 Census starting out their family.

   Wife: CATHERINE (DUGGAN), age 24
   1. 1st Dau: MARY C. ,     age  5 MONTHS.


ISAAC A. ATCHLEY age 35 Wife CATHERINE (DUGGAN) ATCHLEY, age 34 
and the are found in the 19th of Aug. 1870 Census  for P.O. Fair Gardens, 
Sevier Co., TN. (M-593, State Reel 1559, Pg. 404, F.G. 092) 
The family had grown to 3 Daughters and 2 Sons. They were farming 
his $800 Farm with $480 Personal Value. He was living next door to 
his brother (F.G. 091) NOAH, 3 ATCHLEY, and adjoining (F.G. 093) 
JOSHUA LINDSEY and his Wife MARY ANN (Unknown) LINDSEY
   H/H ISAAC A. ATCHLEY,            age 35 TN Farmer $800/$450
   Wife: CATHERINE (DUGGAN),        age 34 TN Keeping House
   1. 1st Dau: MARY C. ATCHLEY,     age 11 TN

   3. 3rd Dau: NANCY M. ATCHLEY,    age 07 TN
   4. 1st Son: Son: THOMAS ATCHLEY, age 04 TN
   5. 2nd Son:Son: ENOCH ATCHLEY,   age 01 TN


In REF:#1.6, pg103] States:
During 1871 this family moved to Missouri, settling on a
farm located one mile from "Rose Hill Paptist" Church, in
Green Co., MO. At that time Rev. George LONG, II was pastor of
the Rose Hill Church. ISAAC A. ATCHLEY lived a short distance
south of the home of Rev. George LONG, II.
ISAAC A. ATCHLEY and his family were members of the "Rose Hill
Church".  ISAAC and his wife were buried in the Cemetery at Rose Hill.
CATHERINE (DUGGAN) ATCHLEY, died in 1925.

Need 1880 Census, Sevier Co., TN.
   ISAAC A. ATCHLEY, age 45
   Wife: CATHERINE (DUGGAN) ATCHLEY, age 44

Brother JOHN O. ATCHLEY was in (by 1878) Greene Co., Mo. 
and was listed in the 1880 Census for Greene Co., Mo., but ISAAC 
A. ATCHLEY could not be found (by this writer) in the 1880 Greene Co.
Census. Although son PERMA M. ATCHLEY, listed in the 1900 Greene Co.
Census stated he was born in Missouri in __ Aug. 1880.  

In the 1900 Census, for Greene Co., Missouri we find ISAAC A. ATCHLEY, 
age 65 and Wife CATHERINE (DUGGAN) ATCHLEY, age 64 living with only 
2 of their Sons, apparently all the other children had married and 
left home.

This writer could NOT find the ISAAC A. ATCHLEY family in the 1910 
Soundex for Missouri... the search is still on.
