Thanks for the information, (My Letter Oct 11, 1990) especially on the THOMAS Family. However our records do not jive on the 2nd wife of Isaac,1 ATCHLEY. I am sending you two Family Groups Sheets (FGS) on him.
John O. ATCHLEY, was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery at Willard, Mo., Speaking of Cemeteries have you ever been to the one at Alder Branch? It is very interesting.
Yes, we have seen the picture you sent of the Atchley men. Thanks.
All the information I have on the SARRETTS is concerns Martha Ann ATCHLEY.

Letter:#2 Oct. 23, 1990 Dear Paul,
My husbands father came to Coleman County, Texas from Green County, MO. in the early 1890's.
He told us many time that there was a Enoch SARRETT and a Pink ATCHLEY that traveled along with him on his way to Texas.
Pink ATCHLEY went on to the Plains, not far from Lubbock, TX. He didn't say where Enoch SARRETT went. As for the Ashford Ranch" I couldn't find anything about it in the County History Books. However, I did find a ASHFORD in the Coleman telephone book. Essye Ashford, at 311 Commerical Ave., Coleman, TX. 76834. Telephone 915-625-4039. May be you can get some information from her.
Here is a FGS on John O. ATCHLEY, but I don't happen to have anymore on Isaac A. ATCHLEY, Sorry.
Know you did enjoy your stay in Tenn. It is a beautiful and interesting state. My mother's people came from Sparta. Her sername was DIBRELL. My only son-in-law is also from Tenn.

I am looking for my ancestors in Virginia and Tennessee. I think they were mainly from Jefferson, Sevier, and the sorrounding counties in TN. Specifically I am looking for the Atchley's living in that area.
My GGGGrandmother was Lydia Atchley - born April 22, 1794 in VA and married to Thomas Maples on Dec 6, 1809 in Sevier Co Tennessee. I think her father was Thomas Atchley. If you have any information on this family I would be grateful to get it. I have alot of information on the Reneau/Reno family and a little on the Brimer family that I would be happy to share if it would be helpful.

I think the query that you saw was put out before I found out that my Anna C. Atchley was the daughter of
Gideon Augustus Atchley b. 10/9/1836 Sevier Co.. TN and Nancy E. Fox. Anna was b. 11/9/1866 and married Thomas Jefferson Cate. They were my great-grandparents.
I have a lot on the Atchley's thanks to a new found cousin Paul Morgan. I have some on the family you referred to: Isaac Atchley and Mary Bowers.

As you can see I evidently have the wrong birth date for Mary according to what you have found on the Census Records. I have not checked any of Paul MORGAN's info myself other than that which pertained to my direct line through Thomas Jefferson Cate and Anna C. Atchley.
So let me know if you see any other errors on this.
I show Isaac Atchley's parents to be Thomas Atchley, Sr. and Lydia Richards. Is that what you have.?
I have four pages of info, 11 generations, but like I said the only part I have had time to verify is my direct line so far. I am now on the generation after Thomas Jefferson Cate and Anna C. Atchley, their daughter Bertie Lee Cate married Robert Columbus Brown and I am really having trouble with the Brown's. I've found Robert Columbus Brown's father George Oliver Brown, and I know his father is John Brown b. 1799 in NC and that is where I am stuck. But anyway, if you would like a copy of these 4 pages, send me your snail mail address and I will be glad to send you a copy. And I would love to have any info you have. I will get back to the Atchleys and try to fill in the blanks and verify it all one of these days.

Thanks for the complete response. While I had much of the "wire frame" of the tree, your records added some color to my records.
For the record, Martin Atchley is my GGGG Grandfather (through the Thrailkills). Now, more than 200 years after their departure from New Brunswick, NJ I now work there (and live a few hundred yards from the city).
I have tried to take advantage of being in New Brunswick to uncover new details, but haven't been very successful. One of the big kickers is that "New Brunswick" didn't exist as a city until late in the family's time here. (Before that it was a landing on the Raritan River called "Brunswick" but apparently not incorporated) And the state didn't even exist for much of the time. So the places I thought to look were not immediately helpful.
The other likely place was the church, and I had a record that indicated they were Baptist. The closest Baptist Church was in Piscataway (now a drive measured in seconds from New Brunswick), but it lost its records in a fire quite a long time ago.
Since we have a common interest in the family, and you have a more seasoned understanding of how these things work, I would simply ask: Where (and for what) do you think I should be looking around New Brunswick for a little extra information on the family? Or, if you were to make the trip to New Brunswick, where you start looking?

Hello, I am a descendent of Isaac Atchley and his first wife Elizabeth Emily Smith. George Washington Atchley (his son) was my gg grandfather. Washington was married to Lydia Lindsey. They had four children. Their daughter Emily was my g grandmother. This branch of the Atchleys left Tn and moved to Missouri in the 1850's. This was when their children were small and they grew up in Jasper Cty, Mo. Emily married Jesse Morris there. I am still searching to what happened to Washington and Lydia in Missouri. I am assuming they are buried there.
I was interested in the statement about Isaac being buried in the Atchley Cementary. Where is this? Another descendent told me he was buried by both of his wives in a pasture that used to be in the family. Said there wasn't any tombstone. I wasn't sure about this information.
