Meadow off Alief-Clodine west of Boone; This looks like a burial site in front of a
two story townhouse with two trees in front. No markers. I
disagree; it looks more like some fancy landscaping to me.
This one needs some research. |

SCHLOBOHM FAMILY CEMETERY: Near Aldine. 1874 - ; one acre, approx.
70 graves. Owned by heirs of Johann Schlobohm. RECORDED: The
Tejas Gazette 4:3:1999 (Tejas Publs. & Research, Houston); A
History of the Humble,
Texas, Area
(James Tull Chapter DAR 1976). |
From Beltway 8, go south on J.F.K Blvd. until you
get to Lauder. Turn left and proceed approx. 1/4 mile. On the right
side of the street you will see a Tax office (but its not an office
building.. looks more like a house) and on the left side, you'll see a
horse pasture. To the left of the horse pasture is a long road with
(currently) a wooden sign marked 4451 Lauder, go up
the road (north) and then it will fork. Take the fork to the left.
You'll see a gate across the path - the cemetery is behind it. You
cannot access the cemetery - its got a large chain link fence with
razor wire at the top. Its a fairly large cemetery but only the back
half is used. |

SCHULTZ FAMILY CEMETERY: aka Marks-Schultz Seven graves relocated
in Glenwood Cemetery RECORDED: Cemeteries of Harris County,
Texas Vol. II (Lorine Brinley, privately published 1985). [I believe this note applies to this cemetery:
"Sorry about confusing you. I associate the Bliek name with the
cemetery located off Memorial Drive. It may be referenced as the
Marks-Schultz Family Cemetery. It's the one located on the key map
pg. 488, section C, I think. According to the Mark's family
descendants, Johann Schultz and Sophie (1st. cousin Schultz) lived
in Letitia (later became Addicks town site). Both were buried in
the Marks Family Cemetery and later in 1979 the graves were moved to
Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston."]
The given GPS coordinates from the nearest side road
(about 100ft East of the original location) |
"I've spoken
with Maudeen Marks, the youngest child of Emil and Maud Marks, and
she directed me to where her family graveyard used to be (a few
years back, Maudeen's older sister, Atha, had all of the graves
relocated to Glenwood cemetery in town). The original site was on
the South side of I10 in what is now an empty field, just West of
the BP Amoco Building's parking garage. The actual GPS coordinates
from the nearest side road (about 100ft East of the location) are
N29 47.026 W95 37.944 and the graves were located under a small
group of very old live oaks. The Schultz's were Maudeen's
grandparents." (email from Chris Culberson)

I expect that this cemetery will be surrounded by
homes on three sides soon but now it is in the middle of nowhere.
It is located in the woods about 200 yards behind the commercial
building at 9154 Will Clayton Pkwy. It may be easier to access
by walking along the southernmost fence line of the Humble I.S.D. bus
barn located on Wilson Road. During the growing season, you may
find a GPS invaluable.
Once the land to the
north, east and south is developed, I would appreciate someone letting
me know what becomes of the cemetery and where the best access point
is located once development is completed.
