DEATHS

Mrs. Edward Cutting

A resident of this district for her entire life, Mrs. Margaret Jane Cutting, wife of Edward Cutting, Lake Rd., died at her home last evening after an illness of about one year. The late Mrs. Cutting was in her 74th year.

Born in Puslinch Township, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bowman, on Sept. 04, 1871 she married Edward Cutting in 1890.The marriage took place in Eramosa Township and they had resided in Puslinch Township for the last 22 years.

Survived are her husband, 5 sons Wellington of Guelph and Gordon, Mervin, Clarence and Walter of Hespeler, and 4 daughters, Mrs. J McGregor (Gladys), of Galt, Mrs. Wm. Roscoe(Sylvia) of Puslinch Township, Mrs. Ernest Garside (Olive) and Mrs. Bert Johnson (Lottie) of Hespeler. Two brothers William Bowman of Preston and John Bowman of London and 5 sisters, Mrs. H. Black of Guelph, Mrs. W. Black of Hespeler, Mrs. H. Leach of Oshawa, Mrs. U. Johnson of Brantford and Mrs. R. Johnson of New York, also survive.

The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the residence of her son, Walter 5 Bella St, Hespeler. Interment will be in the Hespeler Cemetery and the Rev. G. Kersey will officiate.

HESPELER HERALD-JAN. 27, 1922

Ed. Cutting had the misfortune to have two fingers of his right hand amputated while at work on a press at the Stamped and Enamelled Ware plant yesterday afternoon.

Ed Cutting had various jobs in Hespeler. He delivered coal by horse and wagon and he worked at the Stamped Enamel. His son Clarence recalled that during his employment at the "Stamp" Ed lost part of his finger. When the doctor arrived, he took the severed finger and through it out the window into the Speed River. Ed and Margaret lived across from the mill out by "Blackbridge". They also lived on Henderson Street in Hespeler. In later years, they lived in Puslinch , past the golf course.

Edward Cutting Passes, 84 Years

Edward Cutting, resident of Hespeler for 30 years, passed away at his home, R.R. 2 Hespeler, in his 84th year yesterday afternoon, after an illness of one year.

At the time of his death, Mr. Cutting was a retired labourer, having served 25 years with the Stamped and Enamel Ware plant in Hespeler. He was a member of the Hespeler United Church.

Born in Erin Township on Feb. 08, 1870, he was he son of Henry Cutting and Phoebe Jane Pevoy, born in Ireland. He married Margaret Jane Bowman in 1890, who predeceased him in 1945.

Mr. Cutting leaves to mourn his loss, four sons, Wellington of Guelph, Gordon of Puslinch, Mervyn and Clarence of Hespeler and 5 daughters, Mrs. J. McGregor, Galt, Mrs. William Roscoe (Sylvia), Mrs. Bert Johnson (Lottie) both of Hespeler, Olive Cutting, Puslinch, Mrs. Oswald Mundy (Flossie) predeceased in 1923.

Sisters: Mrs, Sara Robinson, Passadena California, Mrs. John Daley, Eramossa Rd., Guelph, Mrs. Mary Halliday, Rockwood, Mrs. Harvey Shingler, Cooper St. Hespeler.

There are also 22 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the Stager Funeral Home Saturday, Dec. 19, 2:30 pm., to the Hespeler Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Rev. M.G. McFarlane.

Death of Mrs. Munday

Mrs. Oswald Munday passed away on Friday morning following an illness of about two years duration. The deceased who was the daughter of Wellington Cutting (should say Edward!!) was born in Flamboro county not 31 years ago. She was married 13 years ago. Her husband and five children Nelson, Cecil, Bert, Myrle and Myrtle are left to mourn her loss. The funeral on Sunday afternoon was conducted by Rev., Mr., McKendrick.

A PAINFUL ACCIDENT-GALT REPORTER OCT. 18, 1912

A very painful accident happened to Oswald Monday yesterday while operating a saw at Noah Shire's residence. He was working with William Black's threshing outfit. The unfortunate young man had the cap of his left elbow sawed off. Dr. Lockhart attended him. He was taken to Galt Hospital.

I was told that after Ivin Bowman's death, Irvin's wife, Gert Cutting, was seeing Oswald Monday.
