[NI109232] Obit in the Johnstown Trib May 31, 1937: MRS. JOHN BRANT Somerset, May 31, Mrs. Susan (Mishler) Brant, aged 80, w/o John Brant, d yesterday morn at her home, East Somerset. The death of Mrs. Brant separated a marriage union that had existed for 55 yr.s. Mrs. Brant was a d/o Jonas & Magdalene (Thomas) Mishler & b Somerset Co.. Surviving are her hus. & these chldn: Calvin R. Brant, Pittsburgh, Grant M. Brant, Mrs. Milton J. Baughman & Mrs. George W. Gumbert, all Berlin; Mrs. Alpha Moore & Mrs. M. H. Will, both Somerset. She also leaves 26 gchldn & 23 ggchldn. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm tomorrow Ridge Reformed Ch., Bro.svalley Twp., Rev. Dr. George Roth, paster of St. Paul's Reformed Ch. of Somerset will officiate. Bur. Ridge Cem., under the direction of Charles R. Hauger, local mortician.

[NI109245] Herald of Truth Vol XXXV # 5 Mar 1 1898 pg 77, 78. Blaugh, Barbara w/o Levi Blauch, Johnstown, Pa & d/o Isaac & Susanna Yoder b May 17 1857 was m with her surviving husb Nov 8 1874. Both united with Menn Ch May 16 1875. On 27 Oct. 1897, in evening she took a lighted lamp filled with oil, & started down cellar way, when her feet slipped & she struck lamp against wall, breaking it & scattering oil over her garments. They caught fire & in a minute her whole body was aflame. Her skin was literally roasted. In her sad condition she suffered 7d, when inflammation set in & death came. On Thu Nov 4 she bade farewell to her husb & chdn, & also to her father & sis'. On Fri morn Nov 5 she ate a hearty breakfast, & rested well. At half past 10 o'clock she passed away. She reached age 40y 5m 18d. She leaves husb, son, dau, father, 3 sis' & a bro. Bur on 7th Stahl Menn M H, Somerset Co, Pa where she had been a regular attendant. Funeral by Jonas Blauch & S. G. Shetler.

Funeral servs (for the late Mrs. Elizabeth Barnhart Hammer, widow of Joseph. S. Hammer, whose death occurred Thu at Mem'l hosp, were conducted at 2 pm Sun at late residence, 1399 Franklin st, in charge Rev. Harry E. Smith, pastor of Roxbury MEC. Mrs. Juan Smith, w/o Rev. Mr. Smith, sang "Abide With Me." Bur Grandview cem. 4 sons & 2 gsons
of Mrs. Hammer acted as pallbearers. The sons are Charles, Ross, Walter & Harry Hammer & the gsons are Lester Shaffer & Fred Krise, Mrs. Hammer's health had been impaired for abt 2 wks before she was removed to the hosp to undergo an operation for bowel obstruction. Elizabeth Barnhart was b near Stoyestown Apr 8 1848, d/o Michael & Elizabeth Sell Barnhart. The Barnhart family removed to Roxbury section in 1864, Mr, Barnhart purchasing 150 ac of ground, part of which is now
owned by the city in the Luna pk tract. Mrs. Hammer's mother d in this city Apr 2 1878, aged 65. Her father d Dec 7 1889, aged 80. Mrs. Hammer's mother was memb of Roxbury MEC. She donated the plot of ground on which the ch was constructed more than 60 yrs ago. Michael Barnhart was a member of
the 1st Luth ch. Elizabeth Barnhart was one of 3 sons & 4 daus b to Mr. & Mrs. Michael Barnhart & was 6th of this number to
pass away. Her surviving sis is Mrs. Sarah Melander, Franklin
st. Mrs. Hammer was a sis of the late Mrs. Mary Barclay, Mrs.
Elmira Myers, Henry, Isaac & David Barnhart, Henry Barnhart serv in ciivil war. Mrs. Hammer is survived by 5 sons, 4 daus. 29 gchdn & 6 ggchdn. Surviving chdn are: Mrs. Nettle Shaffer, 1457 Franklin st; Ella, w/o W. S. Krise, 1288 Franklin st, Pearl, w/o George Baldwin, PIainfleld; Stella, w/o L. Frank Aaron, Bethlehem, PA; Dr. C. M. Hammer, 608 Contral ave; S. Rosa Hammer, Plainfield; Harry A. Hammer, Theodore st, Roxbury,
& Walter & Ernest Hammer, both at home. Mrs. Kate Ann Rodgers of Hooversvllle, aged 90, is the only surviving

Miss Barnhart & Joseph S. Hammer were m In Davidsville Nov 10 1867 by Rev. David Stufft. Mr. Hammer was a shoemaker by trade & serv as justice of the peace for 15 yrs. His death occurred Dec 29 1906, aged 69. The following out-of-town friends & relatives attended the funeral: Mrs Elizabeth Gallaher, New Washington, PA, accompanied by her dau, Ada Gallaher, Mrs Gallaher being the mother of Miss Sarah Gallaher of Ebensburg; Mrs J. Servs were conducted at Blough Ch on the 6, by S D Yoder, Simon Layman & L A Blough. It was estimated that there were abt 800 people at funeral. She is survived by sorrowing husb & 9 chdn, a baby only 10d old & many friends to mourn for a faithful & kind wife & mother. Sis Stahl was quiet & gentle, a faithful sis in Ch from her youth. The bereft family has sympathy of the whole community in their sad bereavement.

I Adam Fadely, Elklick Twp, Somerset Co., PA being sick & weak in body but of sound mind & understanding & considering the certainty of death & the uncertainty of the time thereof & to the end I may be the better prepared to leave this world whenever it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make & declare this my Last Will & Testament in manner following that is to say, 1st & principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator & my body I request to be committed to the earth in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors, herein after named & I give all my plantation lands & tenements with all my stock of horses, horned cattle & other live stock belonging to me with all my farming utensils & all my household & kitchen furniture unto my wife Mary during her natural life or as long as she remains my widow (except as herein after mentioned) provided she pays $100 which along with my outstanding dues & demands, I direct to be collected & distributed among my chdn in the manner following that is to say to my 2 sons: Jacob & Adam $200 each more than any of my other chdn to be put into the hands of a person herein after to be named as their guardian because they are not blessed with a sound understanding & the residue of my outstanding demands I direct to be equally divided among all my chdn & those of them that have already received any cash or other thing of me it is to be deducted & further I direct & will that my son John make & mow the hay upon the upper meadow on the Haloes & have the use of wagon for his own halling provided he helps his mother to get or halling her harvest to & unto my dau. Mary I will 1 more colt to be kept on the farm until it is 3 yrs old exclusive of her equal share alike with the others & further I will that after the death of my wife Mary I will that my plantation be equally divided among my chdn in the most easy & best manner they can agree upon & I do also hereby will & direct that my wife Mary & my son John have the sole direction & guardianship & management of the persons & property of my 2 sons Jacob & Adam before mentioned & further I do by these presents nominate constitute & appoint my wife Mary & my son John Fadely to be my executors of this my will & I do now declare this to be my last will & testament hereby making void & of no effect all former wills.
