Bro Blough came to this community at age of 12 & was among earliest Menn settlers that moved in. On Apr 26 1874, he m Catherine Eash. To this union were b 3 chdn: Maryann (Mrs Milton Yoder, deceased), Mrs Ida Dorr, Freeport, MI, & Raymond J, Atlanta, GA. 1 sis (Mrs Lewis Seese, Alto, MI), 2 bros (Andrew, Shipshewana, IN, & Josiah Blough, Alto) also survive. His dau (Maryann) & his only gson (Ralph Blough) both d December last yr. His wife preceded him in death nearly 18y ago. He leaves his dau (Mrs. Dorr) with whom he made his home for last 10y, & his son (Raymond), 1 sis 2 bros, & number of relatives & friends. He was memb of Menn Ch. Although he was quite feeble last few yrs & unable to get away from home much, it was a source of joy to visit with him there, because of his pleasant smile & patient waiting for Lord to take him home. We shall miss him, but we believe our loss will be his gain. Funeral servs were held Feb 26 at home & at Bowne Menn Ch near Clarksville, MI, Bro T E Schrock officiating. Bur in adjoining cem.

He was faithful memb of Shore Menn ch, an esteemed neighbor, a good husb & a kind & loving father. His sorrowing wife & daus have the sympathy of the ch & community in this their great loss. Funeral was held in Shore M H May 3, conducted by Y C Miller & A S Cripe. The multitude of people that met on this occasion could not nearly all get into the audience room. Bur in Miller bryg-grnd.

In the yr 1865 she came with her parents to Iona Co, MI, later moving to Kent Co where she resided rest of her life. On Mar 22 1885 she m Josiah Livingstone, Kent Co, spending their days together in this vicinity. Abt 20y ago she united with Menn Ch near Elmdale of which body she was faithful memb till death. She had been afflicted with cancer abt 15m to which she succombed Dec 31 1921, aged 59y 10m 21d, leaving old yr with its cares & sorrows to enter new with her Lord. She leaves her husb, 6 bros, 2 sis', & many other relatives & friends. Funeral servs held at Menn ch conducted by Aldus Brackbill & Bishop D A Yoder.

The comparatively early death of his father left him & a bro & sis to care for their invalid mother. After death of his mother he went to Kent Co, MI, in 1881, where he m Matilda Blough on Mar 22 1885. She preceded him in death. On Apr 11 1924, he m Lizzie Myers, Miami Co, IN. In 1925, they moved to Miami Co. There he made many friends, being of quiet disposition & noble Christian character. He was oldest kwn memb of Howard-Miami congregation, having belonged to Menn Ch from time of his youth. Surviving are his widow & 4 stepsons (Riley E, Melvin N, Paul J, & Ralph R Myers). Funeral servs were held at Howard-Miami Ch Aug 16, in charge of Anson G Horner, assisted by Niles M Slabaugh & Emanuel J Hochstedler, & at Bowne Menn Ch near Clarksville, MI, Aug 17 by Daniel Zook. Bur made in adjoining cem.

Williams Baltimore: Regional Publishing Co., 1969; originally published 1923; vol 2: 734-735 Frank BILLMEYER is a well-known lumber dealer & manufacturer in Allegany Co., MD, where he has been doing business for the last 20 yrs, more recently in the city of Cumberland. He is a man of sterling personal qualities as well as business enterprise & has made his own way to a substantial position by such honorable means that he is thoroughly respected wherever his activities have taken him. Mr. Billmeyer was b Mar 13 1868, Montour Co., PA, s/o Andrew Jackson & Malinda (Bowers) Billmeyer, & his family is one of the oldest in that section. His parents reared 10 chldn, namely: Sarah, w/o Lewis Buss, PA; John, PA; George, deceased; Andrew, Montour Co., PA; Charles, deceased; Edward, Garrett Co., MD ; Frank; Clara, w/o J. W. Deitrich; Alice, twin of Clara, w/o Joseph Bogart, PA; & Emma, deceased. Frank Billmeyer was reared & educated in his native Co., spending his early life in attendance at public schools & in working on the farm at a sawmill for his father. He was thoroughly trained to the milling business & eventually bought a sawmill for himself in Somerset Co., PA. Thence he removed to Garrett Co., MD, where he also owned a mill, & subsequently did business for a time in Wumelsdorf, WV, before coming to Allegany Co. in 1898. Here he continued sawmilling & lumbering, buying a large tract of land & starting a mill at Little Orleans, Allegany Co., where he did business for abt 15 yrs under the name of the Billmeyer Lumber Co. At the end of that period he sold out to Herman Billmeyer & Father & has since been in business at Cumberland on his own account entirely, handling all kinds of lumber as a dealer & manufacturing several special varieties. He has offices in 3rd Nat'l Bank bldg. He has done well by hard work & close application to all the details of his enterprises, his prosperity having a substantial & creditable basis. Mr. Billmeyer is interested in the fraternal bodies & other rep activities of his community, holding membership in Ohr Lodge, No. 131, A.F.A.A.M. & Chosen Friend Lodge, No. 34, I.O.O.F., both of Cumberland. Politically he gives his allegiance to the Dem Party. In Jun 1893, Mr. Billmeyer m Ms Nina Breig, Somerset Co., PA, d/o Ferdinand Breig of that State. She was preceded by 3 daus Vera, Mildred, & Florence, her father in 1882, her step-father abt a yr ago, & a sis Ellen Speicher Stahl. She is survived by her husb E. J. Blough, Rockton, Pa, in charge of congregation at that place, 2 daus Mrs Alvin K. Rosenberger, Blooming Glen, Pa, & Margaret, at home, a son Paul, at home, her mother Barbara (Weaver) Lehman, White Cloud, MI, 2 half-sis' Mrs Iva Wilbur & Mrs Glen Dunham, both White Cloud, MI, a bro Hiram Speicher, Long Beach, CA, a sis Mrs Marie Smith, Los Angeles, CA, 3 gchdn, & many other relatives & friends. She was admitted to Hosp Sep 28 & underwent an operation for strangulated hernia. She recovered nicely from operation, but was seized with a heart attack, a blood clot (embolus) caused either by flebitis or from operation. She kept gaining strength until morn of Oct 27 when a 2nd heart attack proved fatal in 20mins. She was memb Menn Ch. Services in home at Rockton by Jason Holopeter, after which procession started for Somerset Co, Pa where further servs at Blough Ch, conducted by L. A. Blough, Daniel Kauffman, Melvin Bishop, James Saylor, & Jason Holopeter. Bur Blough Cem.

[NI154613] Somerset Herald, Meyersdale Commercial 2 Jan 1896 Weimer- Dec 21 1895, at resid of his son-in-law, Oliver Peterson, Jenner Twp, Martin Weimer aged 90 yrs. Martin Weimer was b Elk Lick twp in 1805. His father's name was Martin Weimer, as was his grandfather. The latter was one of the early pioneer settlers of Elk Lick twp, having come there from Cecil co, MD, after the close of Rev War, in which he had taken a part, having been present at the taking of Yorktown. He was of German birth; was a shoemaker by trade, but became a farmer & made the 1st improvements on what has since been known as the Henry Glotfelty farm, 1 mi south of Salisbury. The deceased was a tanner by trade & all of his long life was spent in Somerset co, principally at Salisbury, Meyersdale, Berlin & in later yrs in Jenner twp. His wife d many yrs ago, since which time he has made his home with one of his daugs. 1 son & several daugs survive him. His youngest son, George W. Weimer, was a memb of Co. A. 10th Pa. Reserves & d Richmond, VA, of wounds received at the battle of Charles City Cross Roads in 1862. Bur Luth grave yard in Jennertown, servs by Rev. G. W. Crist., pastor of Luth ch of which the deceased was a memb.
