[NF44343] From Local Somerset Paper, Thu Jul 21 1921: Would-Be Serenaders Foiled: Ursina, Jul 20 - Miss Gladys Firestone, Upper Turkeyfoot Twp & Charles Gerhardt, Draketown were m. at the residence of E. D. Thomas, J. P., at 10 pm Mon night. After the ceremony was performed & the happy young couple got ready to seek their home, their found that the Philistines were on their track with all kinds of implements of torture, ready to serenade them under the broad canopy of Heaven. But the good Lord, who tempers the winds to the shorn lambs does not forsake the equally helpless newly married kids. He that doeth all things well, sent to the rescue of the "babes in the wood" a "good Samaritan, Rober Marshall, bachelor, who bobbed up when his services were required. This good Samaritan did not stop to inquire whether they were married or single, but seeing they were like the man that went down to Jericho & had fallen among roughnecks, he proceeded immediately to aid them & led their horse & buggy to a convenient place in an alley. Squire Thomas, who expects in the near future also to join the army of benedicts, took the blushing bride by the arm & told the groom to catch on, & then led them by devious ways through the bottom lands of the valley of the North Fork, until they found their horse & buggy &, after helping them to go while the going was good. After they got into the buggy they left like a streak of lightning, & the would-be serenaders got left.
