Kathryn M. Loewenstein
SHARON - "Kathryn M. Loewenstein, 82, died Feb. 11, 2000, at Medicine Lodge (KS) Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 9, 1917, at Andale (KS), the daughter of Peter J. and Marie 'Gassen' Hommertzheim. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Society, the American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens, all at Sharon.
On July 5, 1941, she married Francis George Loewenstein at Wichita, (KS). He died Jan. 30, 1992.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert F., Burlington, Okla., and Roger L., Wichita (KS); four daughters, Beverly K. Ricke, Harper (KS), Jean M. Clark, Sharon (KS), Donna M. Shinliver, Medicine Lodge (KS), and Joan F. Shepler, Wichita (KS); two brothers, Francis "Pete" Hommertzheim, Wiley, Colo., and Jack Hommertzheim, Valley Center (KS); three sisters, Elizabeth Loux, Salina (KS), Pauline Lee, Wichita (KS), and Irene Bitsche, Chickasha, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Bart and Henry Hommertzheim; and two sisters Margaret Downing and Helen Hommertzheim.
Vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon (KS). Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Anthony Suellentrop presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Larrison-Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge (KS). Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Sharon Senior Center, in care of the funeral home."
