"From my research the John Noel of Anderson Co. Tennessee was descended from the Noels who settled in Caswell Co. North Carolina in the late 1700's. And the Noels of Caswell Co. had come from Essex Co. Virginia and were descendants of Cornelius Noel. Some years ago a book was written on the descendants of Cornelius Noel, by Jennie Noel Weeks, it was never formatted in book form but was
essentially a series of arranged family notes about 600 or 700 pages or more. From that book I was able to piece together the Noels in Anderson Co. Tenn. who then go back to Caswell Co. NC etc. John and James Noel of Jackson Co. Missouri were not in that book. The author though did a tremendous amount
of research and there are thousands of people, all descendants of Cornelius who came to Essex Co. Virginia in 1655 from France via Holland. Have you seen this book, it is on microfilm in the Mormon Library."
