"At the time Joseph -- was born, Arredorf was a village in the first French Republic, which was founded by Napolean in the summer of 1792. A few years later, when Napolean was defeated at Waterloo, this territory again became part of Germany, and the village likely changed its name to Ahrdorf.";
Due to this I have taken the liberty of changing the birth place for Johann to Arredorf, French Republic (now Ahrdorf, Germany).
