From an article in the book,"Confederate Veterans of the Civil War Battle of Lone Jack (MO); compiled by Irene Spainhour;
about "Jennie's" father, Wm.H.Adams, coming to visit and hiding out after he was wounded in the "Battle of Lone Jack, MO"; federal troops came to the house looking for him while he hid in the cellar, the entrance was a trap door in middle of a room which his wife coverd with a rug and sat a rocker on it, "and there she sat with her two small daughters, Jennie and Willie Ann.";
it is written in this article that one of the Federal troops tried to charm Jennie into telling where her father was, but her response was, "He's down south fighten the Feds."

Obituary of her father, published 4 June 1928, refers to "Jennie" as," Mrs Jennie Bynum of near Lone Jack",(MO).
