{Granny Rankine (Ann Watson) was put into service at about 12 years old. She was desperately unhappy and put herclothes in a bundle and walked home - she was turned around and sent right back.}

Told by Auntie Joyce Rankine when I was home in Scotland in March 1999

Ann married John RANKINE, son of John RANKINE and Elizabeth Steven McGREGOR, on 1 Apr 1887 in West Calder. (John RANKINE was born on 13 Jun 1861 in Carriden, West Lothian, Scotland, died on 13 Apr 1939 and was buried in West Calder Cemetary.)
