H. B. NEWMAN

H. B. NEWMAN, second child of John Franklin and Nancy Emma Newman, was born January 28, 1887. H. B. married ELLA MAUDE BIRD. She was born June 28, 1895 and died, age 39, on March 30, 1934. H. B. died, age 61, on August 30,1948. Both are buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.

1. WILMA NEWMAN, first child of H.B. and Ella Newman, was born September 27, 1914. Wilma married GRADY ASH on March 25, 1931. Grady was born March 5, 1910. They lived in Henderson, Texas until his death, age 49, on August 27, 1959. Grady is buried at Caledonia Cemetery, Arlam, Texas. Wilma married later JACK DIXON MCHAM on May 6, 1963. To this union no children were born. Jack was born May 6, 1914. He died in Tyler, Texas on June 10, 1981, age 67. Wilma later married CLYDE COUCH on September 4, 1983. Clyde was born December 16, 1923. To this union no children were born. Wilma died in 1995 and is buried in Bluffton Cemetery, Bluffton, Texas.

a. DOROTHY FAYE ASH, first child of Grady and Wilma Ash, was born February 7, 1932 in Garrison, Texas. Dorothy is a 1949 graduate from Mt. Enterprise High School. She attended Kilgore Jr. College, Kilgore, Texas. Dorothy, age 17, married OSBORN HOWARD, age 20, on November 18, 1949. Osborn was born September 14, 1929. He followed construction with Brown and Root for a while and then was employed as a pipefitter and worked from Pipefitter Local #519, Waco, Texas. Dorothy worked for Farmland Industries, Waco, Texas, until her retirement on March 1, 1987. She was employed part-time with Leroy Bank, Leroy, Texas. Osborn, age 56, died of a heart attack on the job in Buffalo, Texas on May 20, 1985. He is buried in Gerald Cemetery, Leroy, Texas. Dorothy later married JOSEPH BAZARTH on February 14, 1992. Joe was born August 24, 1928. He was in business in Waco, Texas for 35 years.

1) KAREN HOWARD, first child of Dorothy and Osborn Howard, was born September 2, 1950 in Pittsburg, Texas. Karen graduated from West Texas High School in 1969. She attended Tyler Jr. College and Texas University. She married MICHAEL MINZER on August 25, 1979. Michael was born October 26, 1950. Karen write poetry and Michael was in Real Estate and Insurance. Karen and Michael were divorced and she resides n Boulder, Colorado and Dallas, Texas (1997). To this union PARIS LEE and ANNA SIMON MINZER were born July 12, 1980 and January 15, 1985.

2) VIRGINIA "GINGER" HOWARD, second daughter of Dorothy and Osborn Howard, was born April 23, 1952 in Atlanta, Texas. Ginger married, in1968, ANTHONY JEZEK. To this union one child was born and later adopted by Virginia's second husband Tom. Virginia and Anthony were divorced . Virginia later married THOMAS TOWNLEY on March 5, 1971. Virginia owns her owned her business, "Accents", which is an accessory shop for household items in Waco, Texas. Virginia and Tom are in Real Estate in Waco, Texas. To this union BRIAN and AARON TOWNLEY were born May 22, 1969 and May 9, 1972. Aaron Townley was previously married and had one child KRISTEN TOWNLEY born February 9, 1994.

b. GRADY ASH, JR.. second child of Grady and Wilma Newman Ash, was born December 3, 1933. Grady is a 1951 graduate of Henderson High School, Henderson, Texas. He attended Texas A&M and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree in June 1958. Grady is owner of AG Equipment Company in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

c. KENNETH ASH, third child of Grady and Wilma Newman Ash, was born April 7, 1936. Kenneth married VERA PADILLA on March 3, 1956. Kenneth died July 13, 1981, age 45, and is buried in Caledonia Cemetery, Arlam, Texas.

LINDA ASH, first child of Kenneth and Vera Ash, was born November 11, 1957.   Linda married LEON BICHSEL May of 1976.   They were divorced and  Linda married second time  JAMES DAGATA  March, 1980.  James was born April 8, 1949.  Linda married third time DENNIS LEROY MEEKER Decmeber 23, 2000.  He was born July 7, 1949 in Pierre, South Dakota.  Dennis was previously married and to that union DALE A. MEEKER was bron November 11, 1979. He is on active duty in the U.S. Navy.

2). James Russell Ash, second child of Kenneth and Vera Ash, was born June 25, 1959.  He married LORI DEE WRIGHT on August 10, 1991.  To this union ADELINE LAREN ASH was born May 27, 2000. 

3). RICHARD GLENN ASH, third child of Kenneth and Vera Ash, was born July 17, 1962. He married EVA LEASA PETERSON August 22, 1992.   To this union ETHAN KALVIN ASH was born April 29, 1999.

4). DONNA ASH, fourth child of Kenneth and Vera Ash, was born October 9, 1963. She married LANNY MARTINDALE on January 5, 1985. Lanny was born March 25, 1960.

d. WELDON LLOYD ASH, fourth child of Grady and Wilma Newman Ash, was born January 24, 1939. Weldon is a 1957 graduate of Henderson High School, Henderson, Texas. After completion of high school he attended Pharmacy School at the University of Texas obtaining a B.S. of Pharmacy in 1962. He attended Medical School at the University of Texas, Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas graduating with a M.D. Degree in 1966. Weldon married SARAH CLENDENEN in 1960. To this union LISA LEIGH and STEPHEN CARLTON ASH were born February 5, 1962 and July 25, 1965. Weldon and Sarah were divorced. On January 19, 1970, he married JAN MCDANIEL of Lamesa. Jan had a son, CHRIS SPEARS, by a previous marriage. Weldon and Jan live in Crosbytown, Texas where he has a family practice of medicine. He is also a board eligible Psychiatrist.

2. WYNNIE NEWMAN, second child of H.B. and Ella Newman, was born January 11, 1917. Wynnie married OTIS BARRETT in 1933 and one child was born. They were divorced and Wynnie married A.G. CALDWELL on December 18, 1948. A. G. was born February 13, 1906. Wynnie died December 19, 1990 and is buried in Ennis, Texas.

a. ODIS CONRAD BARRETT, child of Otis and Wynnie Barrett, was born September 30, 1935. He married SUE PENNY on August 27, 1955. Sue was born October 25, 1935. Conrad, age 47, died and is buried at Mt. Enterprise.

1) SONYA BARRETT, first child of Odis and Sue Barrett, was born May 29, 1956. She married and has one child, MATTHEW CHASE BARRETT, born October 13, 1984.

2) GARY BARRETT, second child of Odis and Sue Barrett, was born July 10, 1957. He married SHERI SHEABY on May 6, 1983.

4) DAVID BARRETT, fourth child of Odis and Sue Barrett, was born July 30, 1964. David married GERI WAITS on June 21, 1985.

3. GILBERT NEWMAN, third child of H.B. and Ella Newman, was born May 16, 1919 in Garrison, Texas. Gilbert married DOROTHY CAROLYN SMITH on December 3, 1940. Dorothy was born December 3, 1917. Gilbert served in the 1st Calvary Division and served in the Pacific during World War II. He also served in the Korean conflict. He was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Metal and the Purple Heart. Major Newman and Dorothy Newman retired from the Army in 1964, after 28 good years. He was employed by Tyler Pipe Industries in Tyler, Texas from 1964 to 1984. He died on September 14, 1989 and is buried in Memorial Gardens, Tyler, Texas.

a. JO CAROL NEWMAN, first child of Gilbert and Dorothy Newman, was born December 24, 1946. Jo married RICK BARNARD on June 12, 1970. Jo Carol has her own business, Home Freshners, a cleaning and maintenance company and Rick is in his family business, Southern Inspection, Inc. an inspection laboratory. To this union TIFFANY, RICKY, RYAN and CORY BARNARD were born September 9, 1971, August 7, 1974, July 6, 1980, and July 25, 1982.

b. MICHAEL H. NEWMAN, second child of Gilbert and Dorothy Newman, was born August 8, 1949. Mike married BEVERLY HAM. He works for the civil service with the Army Reserve and is a Master Sergeant with 420- Eng. Brigade Army Reserve in Bryan, Texas. Mike is owner of M & B Bookkeeping Service in Bryan, Texas. To this union MICHAEL VAUGHN NEWMAN was born December 1, 1971.
