Thanks for your reply. Yes James was 2 Years Younger than Nancy Ann
Gooch. Nancy Ann married Jesse Benton from what I understand. Her mother was Keziah Ann Hart. Nancy and Jesse named one of their children Thomas Hart Benton. Thomas became a Senator from Missouri for 30 years. In Washington they called him "Old Bullion" because he insisted on gold and silver currency for the U.S.. He had a great nephew named after him and he became the famous mural painter. The capital building in Jefferson City has his murals as well as the Boatman's Bank in St. Louis and Indiana University has one of the largest murals in the world by him.
From my side of the Goochs. James Gooch born about 1759 in Hanover County, Virginia married Elizabeth Kelly (she was born about 1760 in NC or VA, died before 1835 in SC or GA), they had 9 children, Drury P. born about 1786 in TN or SC died 1 March 1839 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Other children were Telpha sex F born about 1788, 3rd and 4th names unknown, 5 William sex M born about 1795 in TN died October 1859 in MS, 6 Tillman sex M born about 1797 in TN or SC died after 1850 in California. 7-8-9 are unknown. James son Drury P. had two wives, first one was Rebecca (Patsy) Whitehead born 1790-1800, Orange City, NC, died 1831-1835 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Drury had 9 children 1. William A -B-about 1814, 2. Mary Malinda B-about 1815, 3. Samuel B. B-about 1817, 4. John S. B-about 1818 (he is my great grandfather) he married Sarah Whitehead 17 August 1883. 5. Jane B-about 1820, 6. Nancy Benton Gooch, B-about1822, 7. Unknown, about 1825, 8. Unknown, about 1827, 9. Sarah B-about 1830.
My great grandfather John S. had children how many I don't know a (I'm looking for help on them). The only one I'm sure of is John Buren Gooch, my grandfather.
I could go on giving you the names of John S kids and John Buren's kids. However I'm just about typed out for now. We are having a Decedents of Drury P. Gooch reunion the 10th and 11th of August in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. I understand a cousin Thomas O. Gooch will have a book on the Gooches who came after Drury P. When I see the book I'll probably be able to give you more info. Regards William E. Gooch ([email protected])

Subject: GOOCH FAMILY CONNECTIONS
It was good to hear from you. The way most of us have it laid out, your ancestor James Gooch was a younger brother of Nancy Ann Gooch. They were both children of William and his first marriage to Keziah Ann Hart. There were five children from that marriage. After Keziah died, William married again to Frances Rice, believed to have been a younger cousin of Keziah. That marriage produced seven more children, many of whom were the early settlers of Williamson County, Tennessee. As for James and Elizabeth (Kelly) Gooch, I am baffled when trying to identify some of their children. I will have to check my records, but it seems like at least three of their children are not named in my records. I believe my records show they had a total of seven children, based on old census records. We don't know much about the family line of Drury Gooch, so anything you care to provide will be greatly appreciated. In my records, that first child was unnamed for sometime. I only found out it was Drury a few years ago. I had speculated that it was Thomas Gooch, who showed up living in McNairy County, Tennessee in the 1810's. He was born between 1785 and 1790, which would have made him the right age to be their first child. He seems to be related to this bunch in some way, but I have not figured out the family connections. If you can shed any light on that, please do so.
Anyway, it was good to hear from you and I hope to hear from you again.
