A William Oke and wife Mary had four children in Bristol, E ng. 1799-1803 including a daughter Elizabeth Upton Oke in 1 803. Very probabl ythere are decsendant so William Oke Sr . and Elizabeth Upton but no tyet confirmed.

The Companys purpose was to populate and develop this area in the interest of the Crown and the company. They recruited largely from the poor and unemployed of England. The promise wa eventual land ownership. Under common terms the tenant occupied and developed the land, paying rent for up to ten years which would cover the cost of their transportation from England.
