Samuel Danner

Samuel Danner

(1757? - ??)

Samuel Danner is quite a mystery if we look in North Carolina. In fact, he seems to leave for Kentucky as soon as the other brothers settle in North Carolina. Information on this Danner comes from Bill Putnam in Massachusetts. "Samuel acquired land in Surry County, North Carolina on the North Fork of Deep Creek on September 16, 1778... It is my feeling he went west with Boone and Bryant, both of who became related to the Danners in Kentucky." Gerald Danner, who helped so much with George, also sent a copy of Samuel Danner's muster roll as a Private in the 1 Regiment (Scott's) Kentucky Volunteers - War of 1812.

Recently I found some Marriage Records for Mulenberg, KY which might shed some light on Samuel. Although this Samuel was said to be born in Maryland in 1784.

At least we know a Samuel Danner was in Kentucky and of age to enlist. Samuel and George still lay open to a lot of future research.
