Notes for Hiron John Reddish:

from Beers' "History of Wyoming County, New York":
H.J. Reddish was chosen or appointed Secretary of Wyoming County Sunday School Association. Results of this association "intelligent cooperative on Bible studies, and a healthy public opinion on theological subjects without sectarian prejudices."

Hiron was first and foremost a farmer, like all the generations before him.  In the 1850 census he is listed as a farmer, but in the 1880 census he is listed as a carriage maker.  Like the men of the time, he had many skills in which to earn a living for his large family.
