Jacob was a coal miner in England then later in Pennsylvania as were his son William and most of the early Hesketh and Lester family. Jacob had two marriages the first being to Aminda Hinchcliffe, they where married April 14, 1870 in Low Valley, Yorkshire, England, Aminda passed away in Brisbin, Pennsylvania shortly after they immigrated to the United States. They had three children together, Alice, Clara, and William. The second marriage was to Mary Ann Lee they where married on September 11, 1907 in South Fork, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. All together Jacob had 12 children. Jacob died of Miners Asthma around 9:00 in the morning on April 23, 1911 in South Fork, Pennsylvania. He was intered in South Fork Cemetery.

William Hesketh was born July 27, 1879 in Low Valley, Yorkshire, England to Jacob and Aminda (Hinchcliffe) Hesketh. William immigrated to the United States with his family in 1886 and settled in Pennsylvania. As of 1900 William was residing with his sister Clara her husband Henry Lester and thier two children William Henry, and Minta in Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania. William and Henry worked in the coal mine together and I'm told on occasion enjoyed having a couple beers together. William Married Lydia Elizabeth Mapstone and they had ten children William would later move to Lewistown Pennsylvania where he went to work for American Viscose Corp. William worked for American Viscose Corp. from 1929-1948, when he retired. william was a member of the first Methodist Church, the Junction Fire Co., and the Textile Workers Union of America local 6. William passed away October 11, 1957 in the Lewistown Hospital and was intered at Lind Memorial Cemetery Lewistown, PA. William was survived by his wife Lydia, his ten children, sister Clara (Hesketh) Lester, twenty-two grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
