MONTPELIER PIONEER IS CALLED
Mrs. Martin Plautz Died At Her Home In That Town On Sunday Last
Mrs. Martin Plautz, an aged and
respected resident of the town of
Montpelier, died at her home in that town on Sunday morning
last at
the ripe old age of 89 years, 8 months and 25 days.
Mrs. Plautz was born in the province
of Pommern in Germany in 1827.
She had been a resident of this country for over sixty-five
years, residing
practically all of that time in the town of Montpelier
and was well-known.
Surviving her are five daughters and
one son, namely: Mrs. Sophia Goltz
of Milwaukee, Mrs. W. Vanecki [sic] of Sheboygan, Mrs.
Wm Goetsch
and Mrs. Ida Fager of Montpelier and Henry Plautz of
Antigo, and Mrs.
Albert Lietz of this city. Her husband, who was
a civil war veteran, died
about sixteen years ago.
The funeral services were held on Wednesday
last from the Lutheran
Church in the town of Montpelier and were largely attended.
