M2.5 He married Katherine Victoria Galloway on 8 November 1849 at Calloway County, Kentucky. 6. He bought Warranty Deed from C. C. Galloway at Gilmer Lots Blk 63-1,2, Gilmer, Upshur County, Texas, on 24 December 1850. William bought this land from C. C. Galloway shortly after arriving in Gilmer. The two city lots make up on whole downtown block, bounded by Harrison Street, Spring Street, Butler Street and Montgomery Street. This is about three block from the courthouse. There is no record of William or his wife, Katherine, selling the land after Williams death. C. C. Galloway does resell the land in March 1853, but there does not appear to be a transfer of title recorded back to C. C. Galloway..7 William died circa 1858 at Upshur County, Texas. The cause of death was illness. It has been assumed that William died in Gilmer, but there is no proof. Since his city lots in Gilmer were sold in 1853, William and his family could have moved elsewhere.

Religion: Catholic. She was the daughter of Jean Michael Bihl and Therese Strosser. She married Christian Eichmann on 3 July 1850 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, at age 27 and he 32. It is interesting to note that the date of filing the marriage return was 15 February 1853, over two and a half years after the marriage took place and almost a year after Theresa had died. It is also the day he married his second wife, Francisca Fest. Evidently Christian had to complete the documentation on the first marriage license before they would issue him another. This documentation evidently was only important to the government and not the individuals concerned as they had been married by Father Dubuis at the San Fernando Catholic Church..2 Her body was interred on 18 August 1852 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, at San Fernando Church Cemetery.3 Maria died on 18 August 1852 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, at age 29. Theresa had the last rites administered by Father Dubuis, the same priest who had performed her marriage to Christian. She died as the result of childbirth.3
