[S1906] Hinson lived with her husband on a plantation inherited from his father Major Davis Gresham. After her husband's death in 1820, a Bill was passed by the Georgia Legislature in 1833, authorizing Hinson Gresham to operate a ferry on the Oconee River, called Colham's Ferry. Hinson moved to Greenville, Meriwether Co., GA to be near her son Davis Crawford Gresham where she died in 1863. From Historical Southern Families by Boddie Vol. VIII.
